Does buying domains and parking them still work?
 

Is it difficult to learn how? I have a decent eye for good actual domains, but not many left for reg fee... It's intriguing to think that a domain only has to generate $10/yr to be profitable.... I can imagine that guys with a few thousand domains are doing a killing even now, right?

Further, do they still have automated software for tracking dropping domains? The ones that automatically buy domains which meet X criteria traffic or ranking wise? Is that still legal? Was it ever?

You're about 10-15 years too late to the domaining game. All the low hanging fruit is long gone. Anything good up for expiration and dropping will go to an auction. On top of that parking revenues have collapsed over the last 2 years.

If I ever have money to invest again, do people sell collections of productive domains for around, what, 12x?? We're hoping to figure out all kinds of income producing assets to buy when we've got cash coming in.. :thumbsup

On a serious note, ignoring that SallyRand fuckstain, there isn't really money in parking domains anymore unless you have a really good domain and as previously mentioned, there is no low hanging fruit anymore.

If you have good domains you are far better off using them for something, even if it's not for the final planned use of the domain. For example if you have GarageRollerDoors.com and you intend to eventually start a roller door business selling them, you can make use of the domain in the meantime with a small blog with some nicely researched articles on Garage Doors. Throw some Adsense ads on it and you'll make far more than parking.

If it's adult the same tactic can be used but utilizing an adult ad provider.

Most parking scenarios involve taking a cut of the ad revenue of the page from the parking provider, so you're always better off utilizing your own resources providing you can optimize the site equally as well or better than the parking provider.

Remember this; no matter how you do it, internet marketing, like ALL marketing is a NUMBERS GAME! The more hits you get, the more money you make. Purely and simply. Now people will chatter on about the *quality* of hits vs. *low quality* hits but that sort of mental masturbation does not change the fact that if you have a good product and get gazillions of hits, you will earn gazillions of bucks.

You can fuck around trying to get those *quality* hits and spend weeks, months or even years trying with little result or you can go for broke with various other methds that the namby-pampies around here don't like but do you really care how you get your hits as long as your methods are legal?

Too many around here are NOT adapting and WILL die becase they lack not intellgence but VISION, do not see that the Google Dance does not work FOR them but rather AGAINST THEM, are bound by pre-concieved notions which no lnoger have any relavance to current marketing conditions and prejudices without foundation.

Such types have SMALL internet dicks, GREAT BIG keyboards and MOUTHS, overdrawn bank accounts and LITTLE income but are ready and willing to tell YOU how to market and earn!

parking is dying because google is slowly but surely filtering them all out. so it is pure type in, and the money isnt there.

Google doesn't like parked domains. And, parking revenue has declined across the board.

However, yes, you can you still make money with parked domains --but it is tougher these days.

The latest trend with domains is development.

Development gets you Google traffic and higher margins.

But, domains are unique, parking sponsors are different, and every domainer has a different twist, so sure, parking is still viable for some.

It's hard to believe that domains that can beat $10/yr aren't still fairly easy to find.. but I shall yield now to those who know what they're talking about.

Why park? Rather spend at least a few hours on proper content and fast setup [wordpress, etc] and leave on autopilot or whatever. Leaving some contact info @ footer for serious buyers to make their offers ;) If you can't make money this way you rather do something else..

You can still register domains and make a profit off them just by parking them (if you know what your doing of course) but don't expect to get rich off of it. These last couple of years it seems that more money comes from selling/flipping domains than actually any revenue you make parking them.

For most newbies just now getting into the domain game it's a losing proposition.

If you got the skills to develop, that's the way to go.

Development is great if you are willing and patient enough to do the Google Dance.

Watch it though because Google is a sloppy dance parner and will step on your toes a lot.

Things like this tend to stop working once everyone else is doing them, go for something new, be the first.

Or even just get a team of 10 Indians working for you, you could pay them $100 each per month and get them to create thousands of blogs

Ok, explain a viable strategy for parking a domain and making profit from it. I am giving you the chance to prove that you have any knowledge at all.

I only make around $350 a month from a couple of spanish adult domains i use to use for spanish free site and tgp submissons back in the day. I parked them over at namedrive.com since the spanish porn market when to the crapper.

The only reason i renew the fuckers is for the $350 i make a month.

Last month they only made $205.00

I think domain parking can work if you have old domains with a lot of links pointing to it out there or if they have good tipe ins.

Other than that, upload a bunch of videos to youtube and other mainstream video sites with the url of the parked domain watermarked on the video and hope that people visit your parked page (for mainstream domains that is, for adult use adult video sites).

You can do the same with pictures in image hosting sites.

There's more you can do, just be creative and use social media sites to your advantage but do not abuse the system.
