how/where/what client/what channel? |
yes.
I bought $25 worth of BTC over 7 months ago .... played with them for a few days, and forgot about them ... A couple weeks ago I read a thread here and remembered I had them ... when I went to look, my $25 investment had become worth $171.34!! I cashed them out before the DoJ decides to pull the plug on it! :D |
Computer and bitcoin addresses are not tied together other than that you install and run bitcoin client on it, which is basically bitcoin wallet application. In there you can have many addresses.
You can move wallet file that bitcoin client setup on your computer somewhere else for safe keeping for instance and still receive bitcoins sent to those addresses that you generated within bitcoin client. First time you install and run bitcoin client it will take some time, could be few hours to get all blocks from network's blockchain, once all blocks downloaded then you can use the client, generate address and get bitcoins sent to it. |
where can I buy bitcoins ?

BTC reached dollar parity first time somewhere in Feb. Last month BTC is holding up steady between $13-16. even if you had as low as 25 BTC * $15 (assumed average price last 30 days) = $375 |

Hey Fris, is IRC pretty safe nowadays coming in from behind firewalled router with win firewall enabled? I remember years ago using dialup from win95/98 people could very easily get on your machine and wipe out whole HDD at ease. Would my main workstation be safe? - I would not want to loose any work related stuff due to some script kiddie penetrating my connection OR would you reccomend to use secondary non important computer just to be on a safe side? What's your take on this? Also, is there anyway to spoof hostmask/ip address there without getting on TOR? I used freenode's web access and my IP was showing up as part of hostmask - I didn't feel comfortable with that. |
I dont even know what a fucking bitcoin is

I am purposely lying - trying to undervalue my profit, so the IRS does not come and knock on my door ... I really don't give a flying fuck what you believe man ... I made almost $150 in profit for something I bought on a whim just to play around with - I'M HAPPY!! :2 cents::2 cents::thumbsup:2 cents::2 cents: |

I don't really care how much you made or w/e, just the whole story given with those numbers sounded like it was made up without even checking factual numbers and just to emphasize fear in the last sentence. If you did manage to profit - good, although you could have made much more selling at peak of around $30-32 with 25BTC you could have cleared around $750 back then - did you miss it? |
