Free Online Multiplayer Games.. FPS and MMORPG suggestions

Hey Guys!

Since moving to a new country I left my xbox behind and I miss gamming.

I'm looking to geek out a bit and try my first role playing game... or a First Person Shooter.

I guess my concern is that I don't have a massive kick ass gamming computer..

My specs are as follows...2.4 ghz with 4 gigs of ram? Is that enough for gamming today?

What are some good FREE games to get me going?

Eric if you see this thread can you please point me in the right direction..
