wtf is a hosted gallery?

I am confused and from my understanding a hosted gallery is for a tgp owner no?

the tgp owner says 'hey, you have any hosted galleries'
me 'sure, let me code them up and i will send you 10 links'
tgp owner'cool'

is that not the theory of a hosted gallery?

or is it
affiliate' hey, you got any hosted galleries'
me' sure, here is your link to your gallery'
(if a hosted gallery was for the affiliates, your shit would just get banned, since you will have multiple submissions for the same domain)

so wtf is a hosted gallery?

im not talking about daily rotated galleries, im not talking about premade galleries coded for them..
just a simple gallery coded for the tgp owner.

yes, no, maybe?

Hosted galleries are usually for use by TGP owners.

Why would a TGP owner let someone else submit a sponsor hosted gallery? They could just sign up for the program and list the galleries themselves with their codes.

Actually, free site owners can list them on their own sites, too.

For the most part, I always thought free hosted galleries were for use by people on their own sites...not stuff you went and submitted to others.

(Just sort of an expansion on my previous post)

A hosted gallery will generally be just one that the affilliate/TGP owner can simply insert their affilliate code, so you don't have to keep making them for each affilliate. Like this:

http://www.cumswallowwife.com/galler....php?wm=xxxxxx

and that is what an affiliate asked me, and i said no...

I didnt know free sites had tgp galleries nowdays..

so basically there is no such thing as a free site IMO if they are going to have thumbnail galleries. What exactly is the benefit of me hosting a page or two for a free site if he already has his own site and hosting.. its not like they get that much traffic for the most part.. and who is to say that the affiliate isnt going to submit to a tgp anyways?

not arguing, just tossing out ideas.

I've actually had people submit sites for my free sites section where they link to hosted galleries as their own galleries. Just had one the other day... Front page.. FPA...inner page with 5 gallery links. Each gallery link loaded a hosted gallery. Hence, the submitter foots the bandwidth for the first 3 pages, but not the actual content.

exactly, thats what i was thinking.. wether its automated or not.. its for the tgp owner that is an affiliate of said program..

atleast thats what i thought..

and if i had say 10 affiliates do that, you would blacklist me right?

Free sites can have galleries. That's what they were for at one time. Index/warning page, possible FPA, main page linking out to two or three thumbnail galleries.

You shouldn't really be hosting all sorts of individual pages for each and every affiliate, IMO. Build a bunch of galleries so all they have to do is link to it with their affiliate code. Then let them use it wherever they want.

Most of the TGP's will block such submissions for the reasons above (they could just signup and list it themselves with their code), but the TGP owners can list them themselves and the other affiliates can use them on their own pages wherever they can.

Its really worth automating them, rather than uploading a different index or whatever.

Often the guys that add them to real small free sites do really well with joins.

I don't accept them. I don't blacklist...don't have a blacklist at all for anything. I just don't accept sites where their entire content (or the vast majority of) is hosted by someone else.

thats exactly what i thought.. the last thing any sponsor wants is to be blacklisted (unless its that idiot choker :) )

yea thats what i meant blacklist/denied submission/etc.. thats what any sponsor wants to avoid in the big sheme of things.

I appreciate your input :)

Are you building all these hosted pages individually for each affiliate? With their link code hard coded on the page?

in some cases yes.. I take custom requests.. but also have a 'custom' tgp gallery maker about 90% complete for the affiliate to download(zip file) and upload somewhere else.

lately, I have just been building galleries left and right, and zip it up and put it on my marketing page for who ever wants it.they code it.

It's so webmasters can make sites like this:

http://tgp.centralshowcase.com/pbu563/index.html

Basically all the galleries both pic and movie are hosted by the sponsor. All the webmasters affiliate id's are embedded so the owner of the page basically has a free site tgp with the ability to gain all the signups.

These types of pages are mostly used in high skim traffic trades to grab new eyes to the page and work them for signups. Also very effective for odd SE traffic.
