    Director of Marketing Needed - Gay Sites

    Description
    Established Adult Internet with network of gay sites seeks Director of Marketing

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Conduct market research to determine requirements for existing and future products including analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information.
    • Mange WebMaster Affiliate Programs, Recruit new WebMasters and establish presence on industry message boards.
    • Establish relationships with other large sites, forge strategic partnerships.
    • Ability to successfully introduce new sites and products into an existing program with established brand name recognition.
    • Carry out marketing initiatives set forth by CEO. Develop and implement marketing plans and budgets for projects, programs and products and manage the productivity of those marketing plans.
    • Manage marketing budgets for programs and projects.
    • Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results.
    • Manage media relations, research editorial opportunities and build relationships with key industry media.
    • Work closely with the Customer Service Manager and Advertising Manager to ensure branding and messaging is consistent with overall marketing and communication objectives.
    • Identify new advertising opportunities, negotiate terms and execute agreements, and implement techniques for improving campaigns.
    • Tracking and measurement of online advertising programs; designing test strategies and creative to optimize results
    • Ensuring effective creative development and execution to support programs and media efforts and ensuring consistency with the overall brand strategy.
    • Ensure visitor, sign-up, subscriber, and sales targets are achieved while keeping cost per acquisition metrics within goals.
    • Work closely with the CEO, Developers and the Ad Manager to report on, analyze, and optimize campaigns.
    • Produce and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports measuring the performance of online marketing campaigns, in particular the ratio of customer acquisition costs to new subscribers/sales.
    • Lead efforts to improve Site Conversion by developing testing programs to optimize conversion of all key site landing environments. This conversion will also require delivering a web site/online experience that is significant enough to drive such conversion.
    • Manage acquisition email program developing offers to convert registrants into members and developing strategies for list growth.
    • Contributes to the total effectiveness of the department, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
    • Performs related work as required.

    Job Specifications:
    • Marketing certificate, diploma or degree (not required but is a plus)
    • Three years of professional services in marketing and communications leadership role.
    • Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
    • Proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities.
    • Thorough understanding of branding principles and tactics through multimedia including the Web.
    • Proven ability to design, develop and implement both strategic programs and supporting tactics.
    • Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills.
    • Must be proficient in managing multiple campaigns across ad networks and exchanges

    • Strong numbers background (stats and/or math) with a passion for digging into data
.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets
.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues/escalations, and manage many projects simultaneously

    • Ability to work with a diverse customer base

    • Extremely detail oriented
- Preferably familiar with online retailing web analytics and terminology

    • Proficient in MS Office tools (primarily Excel)
.
    • Technical experience is a plus (high level knowledge of web architecture, XML, and Javascript specifically)
    • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight time lines.
    • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language.
    • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed time frames.
    • Willingness to travel.
