Will the Republicans get behind Ron Paul?

"Big news! I have decided not to seek re-election for my House seat in 2012 and will focus all of my energy winning the Presidency." -- Ron Paul

i wish...

he's the only guy in washington i trust... :2 cents:

.

Joshua G 07-12-2011 09:25 AM

no. He's not enough of a crackpot to win over the base. Repubs prefer loony tunes like bachmann, palin & cantor.

u-Bob 07-12-2011 09:27 AM

If they do that'll be a sign that things are really bad and that they need a scape goat....

Tom_PM 07-12-2011 09:29 AM

Of course the Republicans will not get behind Ron Paul. He's rogue. He's not even hardly a republican by today's yardsticks, is he?

Professional republican politicians are an extreme group. Every time there's some new thing they want to stall Obama on, they claim they were elected to majority in 2010 to stall that issue de jour. We were elected to bring the jobs.. No wait! We were elected to block raising the debt ceiling. No wait! We were elected to reduce government size. No wait! We were elected to end entitlement spending.. for fucks sake, they're just a bunch of cock blocking whiners.

Ron Paul doesn't play those games and therefore the people who do get behind him are not really "real" republicans to begin with, they're just stuck with that label. If he runs as a republican, it'll be a huge mistake. IMHO.

BFT3K 07-12-2011 10:05 AM

Ron Paul speaks the truth about wars and the Federal Reserve.

There is no chance the loonies on the right will ever accept reality.

He's not Republican at all. He's a staunch Libertarian.

You suck at politics.

I've got mixed fillings about that video. Production quality rocks. It manages to grab people's attention and get them interested in a subject most people know very little about. It is spot on on many things, but there are a few tiny errors in it. Errors that could be attributed to a lack in understanding of economics on the part of the creators, but it could also be deliberate...

IllTestYourGirls 07-12-2011 12:54 PM

He is gaining in the polls and is the only candidate that comes close to beating Obama. New polls have him statistically tied for 2nd in Iowa.

They would be smart to back him, but they wont, they will back an "Obama-lite" candidate like Mitt Romney, because he has nice hair.

seeandsee 07-12-2011 12:56 PM

ron paul for president, america it that time now, dont shit this out!

I dont really pay much attention to the people who associate with the pubes like him and his son. Who does he caucus with? The guy has support from people online and so forth, but some of his views are truly scary to consider.

marlboroack 07-12-2011 12:57 PM

I heard he met this really hot Asian girl and she is making him quit because she imports large amounts of marijuana into the USA everyday.

shows how far american politics has declined that people even consider him as some type of solution.

a ron paul presidency would literally push america back to medieval times.

We aren't living in medieval times now where you need permission from the government to put substances into your body or permission to travel, permission to get married or how much of your property you get to keep each week? Big government is an old idea, freedom is a new idea. To some it is scary.

Good catch.

He'd be covertly assassinated if he got anywhere near the presidency e.g. "heart attack"

Remember what Kennedy did days before he was assassinated? He took on the Federal Reserve and signed Executive Order 11110 to let the US government oversee the printing of currency, not the reserve.

LBJ retracted it on his first day in office. I don't who runs the world but the Fed does.

Yet the only thing they've really tried to address in countless different ways is abortion.

Caligari 07-12-2011 02:11 PM

some republicans will want to get behind ron paul if only in the biblical sense;)

thickcash_amo 07-12-2011 03:07 PM

No they will not back him in a million years.
The liberals on CNN mock him because they are scared of him. And the conservatives on Fox News mock him because they are scared of him.

His ideas are too "far out there" for any of them.

In my opinion he's the only candidate out there who makes perfect sense.

Ditto Robbie and to add to this, that fear comes from the fact that nearly everyone in DC is a puppet of the Fed, loves the corporate campaign money they get from their lobbyist bribes and wants more laws, laws, laws. Ron Paul stands for everything that is NOT the current Washington standard but IS the way the founders had envisioned us. He's a threat to everyone which is what I like about him best.

If Ron Paul succeeds, there will be far less jobs in DC, far less money for those jobs and less need for government. Less ATF, less DEA, No Federal Reserve and no IRS? I love it!

Oh, and I almost forgot...remember Janet Napalitano's watch list? It included "Ron Paul Supporters".

kbauerctu 07-13-2011 11:41 AM

I've liked a lot of things RP has said. I'd vote for him.

digitaldivas 07-13-2011 11:51 AM

i am voting for him as well

mikesouth 07-13-2011 12:55 PM

I voted for him last time and I firmly support him now. The problem is that he is different. The current two parties are really just the same, they both got us into this mess and it would take both of them to get us out of it and that is NEVER EVER going to happen.

We need someone like Ron Paul but the truth is we dont have the stomach to elect him.

Coup 07-13-2011 01:04 PM

I'm so glad Ram Haul is running for President

now if Sarah Palin runs all my dreams will come true

http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/imag...Ronpaulirl.jpg

Vote Ron Paul: He's a man that knows comfortable shoes

BFT3K 07-13-2011 01:35 PM

I would think about voting for him, if there was a chance in hell that he could win.

If he ran as an Independent, maybe with Bernie Sanders as his running mate, I'd think more about it.

No chance I will be voting for a "Republican" however, especially considering just how fucking insane and polarized that party has become.

look Im not bagging on you here but I am so sick of that fucking bullshit excuse. You would vote for someone who didn't earn your vote just because he has a better chance in your eyes? The media helps perpetuate that nonsense as well...if everyone who said Id vote for so and so if they had a chance...voted for so and so, not only would they have a chance they would win....stop being sheep...

He doesn't even need to get elected. By just being out there he is making people aware of things no one even dared to question 10 years ago.

Then why vote at all? why vote for the lesser evil that has a chance of winning? Voting for the one you believe in or not voting at all at least sends a signal.

Ethersync 07-13-2011 02:48 PM

I think he may run 3rd party this time if he does not get the Republican nomination. Not simultaneously running for his House seat opens the door for it

beerptrol 07-13-2011 02:50 PM

only if he's bent over grabbing his ankles in an airport bathroom stall

BFT3K 07-13-2011 03:04 PM

I voted for Perot when HE HAD A CHANCE, but I will not WASTE a vote again.

Nader voters screwed things up pretty badly, in my opinion.

Any of the current Republitards would be 100 x's worse than an Obama re-election, so if an unelectable candidate is thrown in to the mix, I sure as hell hope he syphons off GOP votes this time around.

But if a 3rd party candidate gets as close as Perot did, I will happily vote 3rd party. I really hate the 2 party system. It forces you to vote for the lesser of 2 evils every time.

If you don't vote than you are sending the message "Hey, it doesn't matter whoever you appoint through your phony system, he or she does NOT represent me!"

withdraw your consent.
