A couple of bids have been placed already. Best one thus far is $8k for both sites as a package deal. If you're interested in placing a bid you can also do that here in this thread. If you want some basic info about the sites (traffic, revenue etc.) just post your email here.

lace, and similar possible caveats, for one thing chris is right, the sites do have traffic and generate revenue. and for another thing the (admittedly quite low) traffic that the sites are getting at the moment is just basline traffic so to speak, consisting mainly of bookmarkers. i didn't do any trade management for almost 2 years, simply because i don't have time for that anymore. i'm writing my phd thesis and am fully stretched with this. everyone who knows his stuff can without a doubt rebuild the sites very quickly (also considering the factor domain age, especially with smokinmovies. think about seo...)

Take the 8k and run as fast as you can, cause I'm not even seeing $800 in value.

all i can see is smokinmovies has sent me hq traffic over the years when we used to trade.

I remember as a gallery submitter smokinmovies.com sent me some wicked sales and I only paid like $30 or something per month.. every month I felt like I was ripping you off lol. I think I must have averaged 20-25 sales per month when you first opened up submit accounts. For something that took me a full 20 seconds a day to submit all my galleries, that was some nice profits :)

I'm just being honest, why is that trollin? Was that 8k offer back when the sites had traffic or recent, cause seriously, I don't see where there is much value if you currently don't have any traffic.

yeah ok, you're being honest insofar that you're just stating your opinion. but there is apparantely no knowledge base for that $800 statement at all. The site's scripts and domain names alone are worth more than $2k. Also, again, they DO have traffic and do currently generate revenue, even though no optimization work has been done here for quite some time.

The reason I have little knowledge is because you haven't given a prospective buyer hardly any info to go on. The scripts can be had for 20% of that 2k today and the domains have little value with no traffic. You say the sites have very low traffic, so one can surmise there's very little revenue also. I'm familiar with your site and wish you luck in the sale, but why not list the scripts/traffic/revenue/content etc... that all comes with the domains to at least give some justification to these high "offers" that always seem to be out there in these domain sale threads.

as mentioned, prospective buyers can give me their email to get details about the sites (which you did not do, by the way). GFY is a crazy place, and i'm not posting all the details here in this thread.
as for your arguments: the scripts are modified and thus certainly can't be had for 20% of 2k. Smokinmovies' domain for instance is 10 years old, has a lot of backlinks etc. I'm sure you're not a total SEO laymen, so you should know that this is not worth nothing, quite the contrary actually.
also, in addition to all that, i don't see the behoof of posting things like "i don't see the value of this deal" here, or even debating the value like we do now. depending on the individual premises, the sites will of course be of different use and value for different people.

I did get your email, thanks. I'm familiar with everything you've said, you're the one selling it, not us, so its your job to convince us of the value. Everything you just said in your last response should have been in the original post. If you don't see the point in debating its value then expect offers far below what you're hoping for.

convince "us", heh, there isn't really an "us" including you. all i have been doing with the last few posts was to try to convince YOU and weaken your desctructive approach. i still don't see why you even entered this thread. which brings me back to my advice regarding your avatar...

bids for the package deal are still at $8k btw. for smokinmovies (seperately) there just came in a $4k bid. i prefer to sell the sites as a package but i'm not totally commited to that, so you may also place bids for each of the sites.

You made the thread to "us" in this forum. I'm not being destructive at all, I buy and sell domain/sites all the time and see buyers who get what they want because they know how to sell and others who do not, I was merely trying to encourage you. There's nothing you said in the email that you couldn't have posted in your original post, it would have helped you generate interest. If you can't take a little constructive criticism, then you're in the wrong forum.

i think you didn't get the main point why my startup post was that short: there are enough people who know the sites and know if they could be of value for them. and if these people need some more arguments from me, i'll gladly provide them. but i wasn't intending to convince people who never heard about the sites.

Not destructive at all, it was my advice to you. I've seen plenty of people sit on big offers and eventually lose them because they thought what they were selling was worth far more than it was. Why would you make a "for sale" thread and only cater to those already familiar with your sites? There's tons of people who frequent gfy, many who hardly post, that could be potential buyers, give yourself the best shot possible to get the maximum by giving as much info as possible to as many potential buyers as possible.

Wish you good luck with the sale, but do not rely only in this forum for that to happen. I would suggest you to get in touch directly with site / program owners of the same genre, who may not be aware that you are selling now.

No I haven't, I ran across the trailer and thought it was hilarious. I was under the impression it would be released everywhere, but maybe that's not the case. Another sales bump for some nice sites.
