Those guys are beautiful :)

Tam 07-11-2011 08:54 AM

wow, they are so pretty.

I live in the sticks, so I get rabbits, sometimes a beaver and deer. Nothing like this, lucky you. :thumbsup

Profits of Doom 07-11-2011 08:56 AM

Damn, when I used to live out in the country the only thing I would get on my lawn were deer and wild turkeys. Those little fuckers were loud and would gobble at the top of their lungs at 6 AM...

They Make great watchdogs. Anyone comes up the driveway, and they sound the alarm.

Fat Panda 07-11-2011 09:03 AM

shoot one and mount it on the mantle

justinsain 07-11-2011 09:04 AM

Be careful because they like to peck at their reflection. If you have a nice shiny car parked in the driveway it will end up looking like it was hit with buckshot :winkwink:

yeah they were banging away on the glass sliding doors. car is in the garage... think they split anyway...

Tom_PM 07-11-2011 09:09 AM

The two without feathers are peahens. Females. They make a hell of a racket. Or they're juvenile cocks I guess, since they do have the colored heads.

in the area I live in. yes... were rasied for some reason then the land was donated to a park, which I live next door to...now the birds just live there and wander around

Tom_PM 07-11-2011 09:24 AM

Yeah the hens are usually a more uniform grayish white. Maybe that one on the roof.

TheDoc 07-11-2011 09:24 AM

I grew up with those all around us.... screaming HEEEELLLPPPP and ripping our roof up with super nails.

Our dog killed a white albino one, thus our neighbor killed our dog - and the war started!

Pretty... but annoying as hell.

I have a friend in Napa Valley who complains about the noise the local peacocks make, so maybe they're running wild all over California?

pornguy 07-11-2011 09:59 AM

They actually taste pretty good.

:)

JFK 07-11-2011 11:18 AM

They are lovely to look at, would'nt want them around all the time because of the noise:winkwink:

ottopottomouse 07-11-2011 01:33 PM

I have a friend who had a similar situation. They are beautiful, but they are loud and annoying. My buddy used to live across the street from a couple that had about 20 of them and they would always come over, shit all over his yard and roof and then stand on the roof and make godawful noises all night. He complained to them several times and they did nothing about it. He told them if it happened again he was shooting them. The birds came over, he shot one and the neighbors tried to sue him.

After the shot they quickly built a pen but the tension between the neighbors was so intense my buddy eventually ended up selling the house and moving because he would find his tires flat and shit on his doorstep and other things. He knew it was them, but he couldn't prove it.

The Heron 07-11-2011 03:15 PM

The are fucking noisy stupid birds imo.
