A while back they had a story on the news that the coffee crop for the year took a major hit. They said it is also going to go higher so you had better by now. I bought a can of coffee at Wal-Mart for $15 that used to cost me $8.
Same reason as food prices. Investors are pouring money into commodities because when currency values are down, you invest in tangible items.
Companies and now even countries are hoarding coffee in huge warehouses to drive the price even higher.
It's the same that was going on with oil. Investors poured money into oil, then instead of taking delivery, they simply sold it to be stored since the price was going to go up anyway.
Basically, the super wealthy are treating everyday commodities like a stock they want to manipulate. The only difference is when they start doing it with food, they are impacting billions of people just so they can make a few extra bucks.
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
He got smart. He's in Colombia and those bags aren't filled with coffee;)
In reality the coffee colombia exports is awful in comparison to their local stuff. you know like folgers when it says "100 percent pure colombian coffee" the shit is rank and gives me the jitters.

This is a big part of it. I was reading an article a few weeks ago that said the two best investments as far as ROI in the last two years were Corn and Silver. The price of corn and silver have doubled in the last year and a half.
On a side note anyone who is heavily invested in coffee in the stock market is about to make another killing.
This is not crude oil where they raise the price while their cost of drilling remains the same. I would expect many coffee related stocks to take a hit.
Ever since seeing my grade 7 school councillors mouth, I swore I'd never drink coffee, or smoke cigarettes. Worked like a charm.
Then when I was a teenager I worked at a computer store, and my manager kept a half full cup of coffee on his desk that he used as his weekly ashtray... naaasty.
Come to think of it, now that I hardly ever drink soda, I guess I'm caffeine free for the most part.
Imagine how much money I've saved by not smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee or soda.. It's surely immense.
All commodities are going up. Well, actually the purchasing power of the dollar is going down, due to the Fed's quantitative easing program. More dollars chasing fewer goods means prices go up.

This is exactly what i happening though no one seems to be reporting that we are in a hyper inflationary stage that has been caused by the Reserve. We're just seeing the beginning of this. The worst is yet to come!
Drink tea bitches, moderate caffeine boost which is actually healthy. Not that tea bag shit that's popular in the US either - get yourself some real white, green or black Tea leaves.
