dinner last night

I wanted to see if anyone else has ever tried this. It was a first for me last night but I wonder if it is commonly eaten here in the US. I strongly suspect that this would not be consumed outside of the US :1orglaugh

Deep Fried Bacon Dogs:
Just what it sounds like. Hot dogs wrapped in bacon and deep fried, placed on a bun and covered in chili and shredded cheese. I will shamefully admit that it was AWESOME!

two warnings; I could feel the cholesterol building and do NOT wash this down with beer unless you want to alienate everyone within a 6 block radius from your house :Oh crap

Never had that, but had a bar-b-que bacon dog once and while it was good... wow, a heart attack on a plate and I haven't had it but one other time. I eat Turkey Franks, so that helps, but still.... whew. lol

This is a grilled hotdog with bar-b-que sauce and then you put bacons and onions on it. The flavor was intense to say the least. lol

I love pushing the lines when it comes to american foods and pushing when it comes to excess even.. but this seems down right unnecessary.. This isn't done for taste as much as it is to dare to your body to not to reject it...

surely there are better things out there to try.

Seriously... it sounds disgusting. I was nervous about trying it but it was actually really good. But certainly not something I would add as a staple food for sure LOL

Not deep fried but have had a few bacon chili cheese dogs over the years. If I eat a hotdog I prefer it grilled, well done.

I am not a fan of hotdogs at all, can't stand them for the most part, but I have to admit, they were pretty damn good. If you grill the onions, it's even better. We had it the first time at Sonic and then made them at home with the onions grilled and they were far better.

That sounds like a Tennessee thing, back when I used to live in Memphis they deep fried everything there...pickles, ice cream, you name it. I have to admit fried pickles really weren't too bad...

No but I have had bacon-wrapped hamdogs. I wonder how many here have had those.

You take some hamburger, form it into a long hotdog-shape, wrap it in bacon, then grill it on the barbecue and slather it in bbq sauce. Drop it into a bun, let some cheese melt over it, maybe some mustard and whatever else you want on there and BAM... up goes your blood pressure.
