The Matrix vs Inception

As both of these movies sported insane and complex ideas, which of them blew your mind more? Not that either are truly believable but which do you lean towards as being more possible than the other?

Personally, I think The Matrix took a more delusional mind to come up with but there is something about the idea of Inception that makes me lean towards liking it more...

MaDalton 07-07-2011 01:41 PM

Matrix 2+3 kind of ruined it, so i go with Inception

TubeKing 07-07-2011 01:41 PM

inception is more bad ass

camsvipdotcom 07-07-2011 01:42 PM

Inception over here too.

Intrinsic 07-07-2011 01:43 PM

Inception hands down

Actually just saw it again last night (well half of it), gonna finish/restart it toniight

moeloubani 07-07-2011 01:43 PM

the Matrix when it came out and Inception now...the Matrix these days just seems cheesy as hell

CYF 07-07-2011 01:45 PM

Matrix 1 was awesome. 2 and 3, not so much.

Inception I think was better.

chronig 07-07-2011 01:45 PM

Matrix when it first came out was a lot more mind blowing, was also a lot younger. Inception more or less sucked.

Chosen 07-07-2011 02:05 PM

Neither :pimp

MrCain 07-07-2011 02:12 PM

The first Matrix movie.

TheStout 07-07-2011 02:16 PM

First Matrix was much better than Inception imo.

bronco67 07-07-2011 02:23 PM

Inception FTW.

I've watched that shit like 5 times again since its been all over the HBO. Love that movie.

GetSCORECash 07-07-2011 02:27 PM

Matrix #1 on VHS, for when it was release was huge. Inception didn't capture the same emotion, since I have seen movies like Matrix that have come afterwards.

chaze 07-07-2011 02:36 PM

Should of made this a pole but seriously people Matrix is more ground breaking, bad ass, and creative.

I think some people here just have a man crush on DiCaprio (Admit it, it's o.k.) :winkwink:

skrog 07-07-2011 02:37 PM

Inception

Joxxy 07-07-2011 02:40 PM

"I know Kung Fu"

vending_machine 07-07-2011 02:50 PM

Inception stole its concept from Scrooge McDuck...

_Richard_ 07-07-2011 03:03 PM

i'd go with matrix, but both are great ideas

2MuchMark 07-07-2011 03:22 PM

The idea of the Matrix was simple. We all live inside a computer.

The idea of Inception was complex: Change behaviours by invading their dreams, or dreams within dreams, or dreams within dreams within dreams. Add how the rules of the outside world affect dreams, the differences in time (time dilation?), the rules of physics, etc etc.

Redrob 07-07-2011 03:48 PM

Matrix. Jacob's Ladder. Bladerunner.

All deal with the nature of reality.

Of the Inception and Matrix....I like Matrix best.

Inception 2 and 3.....could be very lame so I won't hold it against Matrix.

potter 07-07-2011 03:50 PM

Inception was cool, it wasn't "mind blowing" in the slightest bit. Yeah sure it had an open end that left you guessing, but that doesn't make it mind blowing.

Matrix was like "holy fucking shit this is insane and I cannot believe what I'm seeing how did the person come up with this".

... So my answer is Matrix.

Yeah, I don't understand why so many people have posted that those two sucked? The question wasn't which movie was better or which one you liked better. Whether or not 2 & 3 sucked have zero relevance to the question.

tabasco 07-07-2011 03:55 PM

Not even close for me. Matrix by a mile.

Primer is better than both and it cost 7 grand to make. That's 7,000 dollars.
It's about time travel gone horribly wrong and did not need big ass special effects to be mind blowing.

scarlettcontent 07-07-2011 04:35 PM

matrix is real

It would be even better if I could find a a place to get it.

Defiance Inc 07-07-2011 06:36 PM

Matrix. It has deeper spiritual symbolism...

CDSmith 07-07-2011 07:07 PM

For sheer impact on the movie-going world the Matrix wins hands down. It was huge in it's day. Like legendary huge. Inception is big today, but it's impact really pales by comparison.

Having seen all movies involved I'd have to say while I enjoyed Inception, The Matrix has had a far greater lasting effect on me, as in it's made me think more about it and the complex plot issues.

ArielRebel 07-07-2011 07:22 PM

Inception :)

19teenporn 07-07-2011 08:04 PM

I vote for Kung Fu Panda 1

sandman! 07-07-2011 08:05 PM

matrix for sure.

Primer was good. It's available from Netflix on DVD.

leg4 07-08-2011 12:38 AM

I rather enjoyed The Matrix more.

nico-t 07-08-2011 01:36 AM

There are 2 movies which blew me away when i first saw them:
- Terminator 2
- The Matrix

Those are the best in its kind imo. Best movies of all time for me personally.. I havent seen inception yet, gotta watch it! But i dont know if it will have a big impact on me like the 2 movies i mentioned.

jgabra62 07-08-2011 01:57 AM

Inception was kinda lame...only good for the visual effects.

The Matrix Trilogy was phenomenal! There were even courses being taught in some universities based on some of the concepts introduced in the Matrix. Heavy shit!

John-ACWM 07-08-2011 06:04 AM

Matrix because it was years ago.

that's an insane graphic! it is that complex no doubt, but i would advise anyone who has not seen Primer to not look at that chart. it probably wouldn't make much sense anyways and you should see that film with a clean slate.

Matrix Budget 60 million
Inception Budget 200 million
Primer Budget 7 thousand

Interesting to note that some of the sets used in The Matrix were originally used in another great SF film called Dark City.

TB Adriana 07-08-2011 06:29 AM

i liked inception better
