Charlie Wilson's War is a great movie

I was actually just generally turned off just because it was a Tom Hanks flick and I thought it would be jingoistic or bullshit.

But it's actually one of the most authentic and fact-following Hollywood movies I've ever seen...

This dude actually rocked lol

:D

I'm waiting for the sequel that shows how we had to go back and fight the Taliban with all the weapons we supplied them... but do agree it was a good movie. :pimp

It really highlights where we dropped the ball. All the US cared about was fighting against the Russians, then we supported the Taliban regime and turned a blind eye to their extremist government because of the "war on drugs". If they just would have followed through and helped rebuild the infrastructure and actually cared about what was best for the people instead of using the country as a disposable pawn think of how different things would have been. It's sad our country usually only gives a shit about human rights when we can use it as an excuse to benefit us in some other way.

Today's friends will become tomorrow's enemies.

In fact, this applies in daily life too. Be careful what you tell your "friends" because two years from now they won't be "your friends". This holds especially in our industry.

Melissa and I really enjoyed that movie, passed it up a bunch of times until just earlier this year.

Sure, Muslim extremists might love us then.
