If you were going to buy a car for your mother
What would you get for her?
My mother has been hinting around that she would like something. I am thinking about a C-class 300 4matic. Anyone have any experience with one? |
Now there is a good son :thumbsup
If you live somewhere there is snow in the winter, avoid RWD.
Konrad, he said 4matic...
Minte, I like merc's... The new ones especially.. The new C class is also nice and 300 4matic is plenty.. Sounds like a good choice.. Only q I would have is if she ever drove in a merc and liked the "feel"... My mum hates the standard suspensions... |

A black SL550 with tan interior.
C-class is a good size car for her. I don't think she would do well with an S.

Go with the C then, it's a nice car, or an e coupe... (if she does not need the backrow seats)
Acura NSX
My mom want's a Nissan Murano...

Get her a Jeep. They have some damn nice ones too.
Rather dependable, great on snow and not a lot of fluff stuff that will get ignored anyway. |

i'd take an A4 or A5 with quattro, but i'm biased :winkwink: |

How much is the car? We can gauge how good a son you are based on price. :)
How about a Subaru AWD ?
I got her the A class, great city car with the mb quality
Never had any luck picking cars for others but i'm pretty good at battering the price down on what is chosen :)
Get her a BMW :winkwink:

C class is a horrible star car. i've owned 2 unfortunately. get a bmw or vw product, much less issues and more durable.
I would be very happy knowing my mother is safe in a Mercedes E Class or a BMW 328
Get her a Cadillac.
She will love it. |

Anyway, if you're going to get your mom a C... I think you should get your mom a C63. :thumbsup |

1. 40K for Mom? See #3 2. Can I borrow some money? 3. DAMN - YOU ARE ONE DAMN FINE SON DAMN :) |
If I had the loot ,anything she wanted, but I'll stick with a Lexus
Maybe she would like a small SUV?
my c class issues (purchased brand new btw) are mostly electronic bugs... bose amplifier under seat started crackling/sparking, comand system lcd randomly shut on/off, infrared key (if you can call that plastic POS a key) failures, a/c always frosting the windows, and above all the 6spd manual tranny was shit... sticky clutch, worlds heaviest flywheel and everything. but most mb owners dont buy sticks anyway. and finally the car is simply underpowered for something of its size/weight its a slow POS. how do you feel about a $38k car that cant even chirp its own tires with a manual box and does 0-60 in like 10 seconds. at least the seats were comfy
I'll say SUV will be good and suits more then a Ferrari or Porsche... ;)

Or the G-class, sure looks more secure.
I'd get her a 2012 Taurus SHO when it comes out because, well, it's a badass car.

The new c-class is a 7sp. The specs on mercedes site, show it's 0-60 at 7.1secs. More than fast enough for my mother. |
Give her a choice. Pick three cars instead of one. Get pretty brochures from the dealers. Let her enjoy the gameshow aspect of it. She can choose the color, the car etc... She will likely end up picking the same car you would have chosen for her, but the act of choosing is its own reward as well. Mothers generally like to be 'advised and asked' much more than they like to be 'given or told' what to do. :2 cents:

1st I gave her a K car, can't remember which one. Then I gave them a lincoln grand marquis, 90s, not a new one. They ran both of them into the ground.
Also bailed her out on her mortgage a few times. She still lost the house. Just felt like bitching. I don't get her nice cars cause she can't maintain her things. |

How about a Range Rover?
I plan on getting my mom one of these - http://www.buick.com/enclave.html
She's always been a huge fan of Buick (don't know why and I don't like them, but she deserves what she wants). |
