GoDaddy.com Being Sold For $2 Billion To KKR, Silver Lake, And Another Group

Domain registration/hosting company GoDaddy.com is about to be bought for $2 billion by KKR, Silver Lake Partners, and another investment group, the WSJ is reporting.

GoDaddy has been up for grabs since last September when Qatalyst Partners started shopping the company around. At the time, it was thought to be worth $1 billion.

the thing is they are the biggest so having your domains there helps when it comes to selling be it instant transfers from one account to another or just making it easier for people to contact you. i haven't been able to find another registrar that has so many things going on in one place, auctions, and discount codes for all kinds of purchases...

Give it some time and you will see that history is NOT going to repeat itself. If you look closely at the history of this famous domain it's always been a link farm, banner page or a parked domain. There has never been any attempt to build or brand it within the scale that it so deserves. We have started and we are planning to change that.

We understand that there are a lot of negative feelings towards the domain and its sorted history, we cannot change the past. We will not fall into the same traps as past owners. We have a very high quality team in place and we're developing a fresh and new course for this historic web domain and future brand.

Its simple. If its not dating/cams, you're just as retarded as everyone else who's had the domain, including kremen.

When you are trying so hard to throw around buzz words and talking so corporate, its pretty clear you have no clue about the adult industry. This is not rocket science and your options for and real success are few.

For Bob Godaddy was his baby now when baby changes owners things might get worse. It's like with everything else, the original owner who created a brand/company cares about it like no one else and he makes commitments while for new owner it's just another investment, they hire managers who may not care that much, who may not have as much needed knowledge about the subject and who may not have such brilliant ideas like original owner.

Last week (6/13 to 6/20) GoDaddy had a net gain* of new domain registrations of 52,356.


Total Gain is calculated as (New Domains Registered + Domains Gained by Transfer)
Total Loss is calculated as (Deleted Domains + Domains Lost by Transfer)
* Net Gain/Loss is calculated as (Total Gain - Total Loss)

Each week they (The GoDaddy Group) renew 300,000+ which climbs weekly at about the same % rate as new reg domains.
