My wife is thinking about writing a book.. where to start?
 

So my wife is thinking about writing a travel book. We have traveled extensivly and took over 5000 pics with our pro camera gear on our trips.

It would basically be a picture travel book.

I believe you write a proposal and an example chapter, then try to get different publishing houses to pic it up. If one does they generally will set you up with someone who reviews and edits it with you at different stages, keeping it in the highest quality for the interest of the sponsoring company.

Or, you write the book and then pitch it as a whole ~ being willing to have the publisher's editor tear it to shreds.
