Another adult webmaster forum DIED: VideosBoard.com
 

With the current situation of the adult business is obvious to see so many adult webmaster forums going offline/broke. Damn, I can't believe they can't even pay a few bucks each month to keep it up. (although the owners will say it's not a problem of money). Ross still post here in GFY, so I guess he can give an opinion about this.

I can't post links to other forums, so I will just write the domain name below:

Other forums that died in the last few years:

thinkreel.com (Completely offline, that place used to have thousands of active webmasters posting every SINGLE DAY, 5 years ago, when the internet population was half of todays)

the***nd (--> the word is banned, still online, but less active than ever)

Adultwebmasterinfobbs (same as the pond)

Others? List them below... Don't be afraid, nobody will punish you.

Funny that some people keep saying adult is better than ever, when there are no webmasters LEFT in the forums.. NOBODY is posting...

Ross on here used to have something to do with that a while back I think. Scott McD is friends with they guy that had it too I think.

Maybe they could shed some light on it for you.

VideosBoard and Thinkreel were the forums where I learned all about movies and gallery submission, I started in adult thanks to them. :(

VP was basically dead 2 years ago already, so I see no reason why keep it up.

It became dying just when MGPs and TGPs started loosing their traffic because of tubes.

Sad.

Its obvious there are less webmasters than ever in the forums... something strange, since internet population is twice as big as 5 years ago.. so why are there so few webmasters left in the forums???

No webmasters in forums -> no activity in forums -> forums dies and close down.

This is the best board that I found. At least, GFY is the biggest forum alive.

I had a forum about horror movies a few years ago. Forums are hard to maintain (easy when there's no post moderation). The costs are too high in comparison with blogs because the database size will increase fast and when it becomes popular, server costs will increase as well.

Even knowing this if done right a forum can generate a nice income.

well i could suggest life must go on, if there is some site down there is probably new site on the rise :)

If a board is active you should be able to make money from it.
Harddrives are CHEAP so the database-size will not be a problem.

There are many almost dead now. Many of them are being heavily spammed with no moderation.

Thinkreel and Videosboard were all based around MGP submissions and mostly filled with Deluxepass/Adultbouncer webmasters. That part of the industry was first to be hit by the tubes so has been dead for a few years now. Those heady DP days were golden though, alot of peeps cut their teeth with them before going out on their own, along with many others I made a ridiculous amount of money with Clement and co :thumbsup
