Best way to list and ship 100+- items on ebay?
All individually different items.. Some things she wants me to sell for half of the profit.. Everything is small (think collectibles) and not terribly fragile.
My idea is to get a bunch of little boxes, take a picture and number each item (going by the number the camera gives each file), and then list them all That way when some idiot buys an item, I ship it out by number ... Every box will have a number and her minimum price right on it (price could be coded.. say she wants at least $10 for an item - it could have XX10XX written on it or XX10XXO (with the X being random numbers) as an example .. or it could just have "10" on it, they won't know what it is) Better that way because everything is boxed and ready to list and still ready for shipping Right? Any better way to do this? Can I still make money on shipping charges, or are they wise by now? FVF calculated based on total price with the shipping, now?? Or the old way?? |

1st class 1.75 for 1-3 oz if small items padded mailers are the way to go. You can buy them on ebay for like 10 cents each :) |
Here is how I used to do it when I sold a bunch of stuff on ebay.
Do as you plan with pre-packing everything. For small stuff, as people have said, padded envelopes are the best and cheapest way to go. If you go somewhere like Costco of Office Max you can buy large quantities of them for a decent price. Take your pic(s) of the item and give the item a number. Write that number on the package and package the item up. Create a simple spreadsheet with four columns. the first has the item number, the second as the transaction number that ebay will assign the item when you put it up on the system. The third has the minimum price and forth has the price it sold for. You can make a fifth if you want for notes. This way when the auction ends you can look at the transaction number, see what item number that is for you, grab that package and put it in the to ship box. Then mark it as done and you are good to go. As for bulk listings. Use Ebay's free program called Turbo Lister. It will let you enter all the info into an easy fill in form and then you can upload it all at once. It will save you a lot of time. Also, depending on your setup if you buy the right blank labels you can print shipping labels right through the ebay interface now. |
1) Get really drunk
2) Taste your own semen 3) ??? 4) Profit |
I was going to write the ebay item number on each box as I listed them.. Easier printing of shipping labels sounds great (even if I have to use regular paper and cut 'em out)
I have sold thousand of items on ebay, but years ago... they found out I was under age and yanked my account though I had 100% positive FB. In an e-mail they promised to reinstate my account if I paid the monthly ebay billing for the fees ... I had turned eighteen in the mean time .. so I cut them a check for $800 and they fucked me over and never reinstated my account Wish I would have used plastic so I could have charged them back!! I got their asses in another way, though ;) Thanks for the tips - I am rusty as hell at this shit!! |
