Gold is going thru the roof. Who would have thought that it would be close in price to Platinum? Silver isn't doing too bad either. I bought a bunch of 1oz silver bars for $3 a few years ago, now they are worth $35 a piece.

strobi 06-15-2011 11:07 AM

400 oz gold bars? :-)

cwd 06-15-2011 11:11 AM

Don't forget that you bought them is US dollars.
US dollars went down a lot during the last 2 years.
It would not matter if you could buy things with gold, but it's still not the case. Maby in a near futur!

It's still a good investment!

V_RocKs 06-15-2011 11:12 AM

Melt that shit down and put it in your mouth.

Hopefully you keep it in a safe where you can get at it.
Otherwise it defeats the purpose of having it:thumbsup

Holding a paper for it does not count! If shit hits the fan the paper is worthless.

Good for you :)

Phoenix 06-15-2011 02:30 PM

time to sell?
or is it going up even more

how much gold do you keep to be as a comfort for hard times? perhaps coins are better for that as well

that is totally gangster btw :)

Vendot 06-15-2011 03:08 PM

http://uk.ibtimes.com/articles/20110...gold-price.htm

Standard Chartered says its going over $5000/oz

My question is, when gold is out of reach, what is it going to do to Silver and Palladium? I like the look of palladium on short supply this year but I wonder what it will look like a few years from now.

OneHungLo 06-15-2011 03:12 PM

I'd watch out announcing shit like that on an open forum :2 cents:

~Ray 06-15-2011 03:15 PM

Size of a standard gold bar: 7 inches x 3 and 5/8 inches x 1 and 3/4 inches. Weight of a standard gold bar: approximately 400 ounces or 27.5 pounds

I was just doing some looking at this. Here is an interesting thing I saw: silver has gone up more than gold in the last five years. Five years ago had you bought $1,000 in silver and $1,000 in gold today that silver would be worth $3,204 and the gold $2,446.

Maybe silver is the real thing people should be looking at.

tiger 06-15-2011 08:26 PM

Thats a great call you made congrats. But if I were you I would sell them at this point and buy gold coins. Gold coins are considered collectibles and so they have quite a few advantages over gold bullion. If you want to know which ones to buy let me know and I can give you my best advice.

GAMEFINEST 06-15-2011 08:38 PM

good stuff man, hopefully the prices dont drop like house prices

fuzebox 06-15-2011 08:40 PM

So um... what should one buy today?

it's only valuable as long as there is demand for it. Right now demands is high because of recovering from the crisis, and your investment was good. But the liquidity of gold is pretty low, so god forbid you need money urgently.

Still ...10 bars of gold $$$$

The main reasons are money printing, inflation, negative real interest rates, etc.

CaptainHowdy 06-16-2011 06:16 AM

Sheer luck ...

Are you kidding me? Liquidity is outstanding, there isn't even enough gold bars to satisfy demands of investors right now.

OneHungLo 06-16-2011 09:10 AM

No, but I bet if someone stuck a gun to his head he would tell them :2 cents:

Be a nice way to score millions in untraceable cash.
