Is Obama already working on his concession speech for 2012?

What an odd thing for the President to say, "Michelle and the kids are wonderful in that if I said, 'You know, guys, I want to do something different,' they'd be fine. They're not invested in daddy being president or my husband being president. But they do believe in what we're doing."

Quote:

And the president revealed that even he sometimes feels like giving up.

dodger21 06-14-2011 09:42 AM

we're not invested in him being president either.

Sly 06-14-2011 09:45 AM

I want to do something different. LOL.

I guess we're all human...

Wizzo 06-14-2011 09:49 AM

With the current GOP field, the only way they would win is if he quit.... sadly enough.

Vendzilla 06-14-2011 09:49 AM

Maybe it's finally getting accross to him that people want jobs, not more wars, just saying.

Minte 06-14-2011 09:52 AM

What a great way to inspire confidence and leadership. What would the world be like today if Truman or Roosevelt would've *felt like giving up*

If Obama's statement is true or wasn't taken out of context,he should resign tomorrow and let someone that wants to try and improve things step in.

Who would you have take his place?

Please tell us of the perfect person that never second guesses what he/she is doing, never has a negative thought, doesn't care what his family thinks but at the same time is an absolute family man.

I'm sure both Truman and Roosevelt both had days when they 'felt like giving up'.

True, but they never told that to a reporter. They where leaders, and leaders don't say "I feel like giving up" They man up and lead the country.:2 cents:

I thought he already gave up and handed everything over to the military industrial complex, the Fed and big bankers. At least he is admitting it.

A leader never says this shit when you are in the middle of leading. Think if Dirk said he felt like giving up in the Finals! The press would have a field day.

Looking back over your career is one thing, but in the middle of leading? WTF?

He could not "hand everything over" ... as the military industrial complex, the Fed and big bankers were already givin that by the previous administration :2 cents:

blackmonsters 06-14-2011 10:38 AM

If one "reaches far enough" one will eventually be able to pull something out of one's
own ass.

But of course it will be nothing more than shit that is pulled out.

Long before that right around 1913. But a new president, if they have the balls, can change that. But its nice to blame Bush, when it really happened under the early progressives. :2 cents:

Absolutely right.

It's odd how many people north of the border don't understand what real leadership is. There's more to it than chasing around the world in Airforce One,wasting more taxpayer money.

MediumPimpin 06-14-2011 11:13 AM

The question was,

In his exclusive interview with TODAY’s Ann Curry, President Barack Obama admits that there are times when he questions whether he would like to seek re-election after the intensity of his inaugural term

i've been thinking since the last time we talked about how busy you've been. i've been wondering, in the non-stop intensity of being president of the united states , have you ever thought to yourself that maybe one term was enough?

“I’m sure there are days where I say that one term is enough,’’ Obama said. “What keeps me going is a belief that the work that we started in 2009 is not yet complete.’’

I'm voting for him again.

Rochard 06-14-2011 11:15 AM

Being President has got to suck. Think about it. If you and I want to play golf, we go play golf. If the President wants to play golf, it's got to be planned out a week in advance, involves hundreds of people, a caravan, and three helicopters. Want to take your kids out for ice cream? Forget it. It's a fucking media event.

Not only that, he only gets to play on two military golf courses!

Mutt 06-14-2011 11:43 AM

It would be refreshing if he announced he wasn't going to seek a second term. Refreshingly honest. He's seen how dysfunctional the entire system is now, how corrupt it is, and how little the President can actually do to affect any of it. He could do a lot more by serving one term and then spending the next 4 years telling the American people the truth about what he's seen and experienced. He now has to go through another gruelling campaign where his record and everything single thing he said in his first run for the presidency gets picked apart. No president has ever walked into a worse set of circumstances. The presidency was a whole lot simpler job back in FDR's time. It's become the worst job on the planet, and that's exactly why the candidates for the presidency get worse and worse. Nobody normal wants that job anymore.

What part of the country is 14 TRILLION dollars in debt don't you understand. If the dollar is devalued globally, you will be able to add hyper-inflation to the score card.

What part about the debt always being fucking bloated don't you get?

The shit has been that way for decades. It just more irritating to some people

absolutely, you are 100% correct. It's all about the whiteman keeping the blackman down.
I may have to think about putting my slave collection up for sale on craigs.

Odd though how a blackman actually received enough votes to become president. Do you think perhaps a few whitemen might have voted for him?

I'm not really sure how this relates to what I said.... It's not like Obama made the 14 trillion debt, it's not like he alone can fix it either, and each everyone running for Pres, has added to the debt, every single one of them with the extra bloated spending they each already do.

We're already in hyper-inflation due to our dollar, if you rip the value out more, things that have no life span (property) or are needed in life (food) inflate, while everything we own directly, like cars, electronics, and investments of every kind, deflate to no value.

Class warfare is slow during inflation, but when they deflate, it's instant. Which is why they're forcing inflation as fast as they can, it keeps us alive and it slows down the deflation that HAS to happen, but when the time is right....

jesse_adultdatingdollars 06-14-2011 12:53 PM

So true... and if he did use the power, he could use, to do that. It would spark a shit fire storm so big, no President could handle it.

It's already started. In my plastics company we fill a silo every three days of raw polyethylene. That's 40,000 pounds. In the last 6 months it's gone from .76 per pound to 1.01 a pound. There is already another announced 6 cent increase from Exxon for August.

Steel prices have increased almost as much.

We've been hyper inflating for a 100 years.

If your prices have went up about 25% and gas prices have gone up well over 25%, I don't see how your price increase is part of hyper-inflation, as when the price of gas goes down, your costs will drop as well.

China has been buying up all metals, we buy earth magnets, they skyrocketed in price over night several months back. That wasn't inflation, that's them cornering the marketing which will at first drive the cost up, so it can be stabilized for future development cost projections.

.

I think the inflation we have today is part of the banking structure that allowed debts back before 1800 - which was the first real inflationary period.

Hyper inflation, I think started shortly after the 1900's... by time the great deflation/depression ended they had everything in place to fully create & control the speed of inflation. We had a couple major hyper inflation jumps 10-20 years later, but that was followed by a long span of very slow inflation. Once 1973 happened, inflation started to compound and as it grows, it compounds even more, exactly like interest does.. making steady-compounding hyper inflation a normal for almost 40 years now.

Even if it goes down slightly one year, it's still up over the previous years, it has gone up every decade, like clockwork for a 100 years. Today it takes about 10-12 years and inflation doubles itself, which started just after 1973.
