Why is wordpress so seo popular?

Why does google etc love wordpress so much?

Wouldnt a small simple blog script do, be just as liked as if it was with wordpress?

awmnet 06-13-2011 08:13 AM

cause there are tons of free plugins and free themes that you can use, not everyone wants just simple blog. Wordpress is great as CMS not just as a blog script. And besides google loves it :)

It might be all the words.

Hard to ever know for SURE why google prefers something over another thing.

Rather than go into a bunch of guessing, I'd just say it is probably a better mindset to think that they dont automatically dislike them, rather than they automatically like them.

Could be as simple as well known easy navigation. Google always wants their user to get a quality experience, as defined by them.

I've always found it interesting that wordpress is more goog friendly than blogger, which google purchased years back.

JD 06-13-2011 09:43 AM

SEO friendly, tons of automation possibilities, rss feed, etc straight out of the box.

Wordpress is pure win. I've used it to set up everything from normal blogs to dispensary websites, paysites, real estate listings, and so on

TommyM 06-13-2011 11:37 AM

So no one really knows? I use wordpress myself so I know all the stuff it can, was just wondering what it really was, as you can set up any blog scripts to have the same functions as wordpress technically

faxxaff 06-13-2011 11:41 AM

WP is not more SE friendly as other blogging platforms. My blogs that are not on WP do better as WP.

This is THE answer. :2 cents:

Wordpress is most popular blog script,so it is normal to expect how sites powered with wordpress receive most traffic.

Blogger-based sites tend to be .blogger, where WP sites are often stand-alone, from what I see. I wonder if that's something to do with it?

dynastoned 06-13-2011 11:53 AM

google obviously trusts wordpress to provide content in a organized and user friendly fashion thus why they give wordpress sites more authority in the serps.

This makes a lot of sense too. More people use it, so just on pure math it's more likely.

Nah, I think Google Favors Tubes way over WorpdPress based sites.

You can get outstanding results without WordPress its the same shit in googles eyes if you do it right and under stand how site architecture should be. WordPress is not magical instant ranking.

WordPress just makes it easier for non web developers and designers.

2cents...

fris 06-13-2011 02:04 PM

never used it before

garce 06-13-2011 05:22 PM

Don't worry. One day Google will randomly decide it doesn't like Wordpress anymore and and dump all the blogs back 50 pages.
