Beat me to it, looks like a mini-bike. The front wheel and gas cap give it away.

Jakez 06-11-2011 04:54 PM

Haha, I don't know shit about bikes, but thought someone who did would spot it sooner. It's a pic I took of a friends model bike, it's about 10in long (that's what she said).

Well now I hope someone leaves it on the floor and you trip over it in the middle of the night.

Yes, this is a city Bike. Hybrid is what they call they. Mountain Bike Frame and Road Bike Tires.

It rides amazing. Very smooth. Just had to change the seat. Seat that came with it was like sitting on a brick. Paid 20 bucks for a new seat and made a world of a difference.

alias 06-11-2011 05:50 PM

Hah, cocksucker. Nice one.. .

You just bought a nice bike! I wish good luck with your new toy.

I'm a Harley lover, but this is a matter of personal style and choice.

A friend uses to say that all bikes are made to fall because they have only two wheels so one day or another, bike wins.

cam_girls 06-11-2011 07:02 PM

CBR 600 are a really nice ride, not too low down in racing position either.

Great pickup, good torque at any rev range so easy to ride, maybe a tad too powerful, a 500 would be good for suburb and highway use.

I might get a high revving 250CC as I can't be stuffed getting my open license, and small bikes are more manoeuvrable.

AnimeFevers 06-11-2011 07:18 PM

I wont get a bike like that because I'll kill myself on it lol... And cars are warmer :)

I never really understood the point of a bike with gears if you're using it for exercise, why goto a higher gear and pedal slower (less workout)?

I was into biking (bmx) a lot as a kid, had Specialized, Haro, GT, Dyno, etc.., the 20in bmx bikes are a little small for me now so I have this pimpin cruiser that I occasionally ride around the city when the mood strikes:

Very nice, that thing rips.

When I was a teenager I worked at a honda dealership and prepped new bikes as they came in. Also test road trade ins so pretty much have rode them all. The 929 is one of my favorites for sure. Please just dont tell me thats your first bike?

I just ride a DRZ400SM < Street/Supermoto version with the wide wheels/street tires. Its not a sport bike but just as fun if not more. Less likely to kill myself too. :]

The thread was a joke lol, but yeah I've always wanted a bike but know it would be a bad idea, I'd be dead within a year or so for sure and not just because I love to street race. Plus I've heard owning a sport bike spoils the fun of owning a fast car, and I wouldn't want to do that.

Quote:

Accident rates

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2006, 13.10 cars out of 100,000 ended up in fatal crashes. The rate for motorcycles is 72.34 per 100,000 registered motorcycles.[1] Motorcycles also have a higher fatality rate per unit of distance travelled when compared with automobiles. Per vehicle mile traveled, motorcyclists' risk of a fatal crash is 35 times greater than a passenger car.[1] In 2004, figures from the UK Department for Transport indicated that motorcycles have 16 times the rate of serious injuries per 100 million vehicle kilometers compared to cars, and double the rate of bicycles

Shit! 35X the risk of dying than driving a car!

Most bike riders are pretty reckless though, so the figure could be a lot less for defensive style riding.

Well. If you have roads that go up and down. It is a lot easier to go up when you are in a higher gear, then if you are in a lower gear or have no gears at all. Also, when you build up speed you put it on a lower gear. It is harder to peddle, but you peddle faster. When you get to a traffic light. You put it on a higher gear so it is easier to peddle. Hard to explain, easier to explain when you are riding.

Besides being a toy, That model of bike would basically be a suicidal purchase for a first ride. lol

While I get the joke here, I used to have a Honda CBR XX 1100. Holy crap, what a fast bike that was - and a pure blast to drive.

It doesn't kill the fun of having a fast car, however. The day I bought the Mustang Cobra was the last day I drove the bike. I ended up selling it six months later.

FrozenJag 06-12-2011 09:06 AM

Just got back from about a 4 hour ride. 5 hours including lunch.

Anybody that does ride, get an app for your iphone/droid that tracks your speed, route, elevation, etc. Its alot of fun to look at when you get back, especially if you like me and my mates that hit random ass roads and see where we end up.
