I just signed up for a 30 day unlimited search carfax.com account. I can check any VIN# to check car histories. I had to pick up this accoutn cuz im looking at getting a used truck, and the deal seemed to good to be true. Turns out the title is clean so I guess i'm in luck.

im surprised more people arent jumping on this, they charge 15$ for just one lookup, 19$ for unlimited.. so either way its atleast 15 bux to get a vin# looked up

I used it before I bought my last car. What's funny is I paid the extra for the unlimited, but then the first one I wanted to check turned out good so I bought it and never used that service again.

what's a VIN#?

Vehicle Identification Number normally located on the drive side of the dash board viewable from the exterior.

and you can use it to check the history of the car? like to see if it's been stolen?

Been writen off for insurance reasons is the most likely one. The car will be fucked up, but the exterier could look fine.
