I started a thread about Manwin last week. This week we have the site in which you can register your interest to take part in an association with the aim of tackling content theft on tubes and forums head on.

We have set up a website www.copycontrol.org where you can register your interest in becoming involved in a non profit association with the aim of controlling content theft on tubes and forums.

On July 1st an announcement will be emailed to all people who have registered interest announcing the date and location of a public meeting in which the association will be officially created and a steering committee appointed.

As this is a world wide problem, affecting people world wide, we are currently doing our best to organize webcasting for this meeting. If you can help us do this then your support would be appreciated.

Several ideas have already been floated about how to combat tube and forum content theft however we believe a unified approach is best and this is why an association will be formed.

I really wish there was a lot more that can be done about it, I'd like to see some progress on the theft of content and theft of intellectual works of any kind. WHat burns my ass now is not so much the theft of images and video but the theft of html/text/rankings going on now with massive networks of scraper/splogs redistributing everyone's created works to gain rankings for keywords that people on here own.

If piracy is to be abolished it needs to be an organization that is not only FIRM and heavy handed in the fight to end it but also needs to include EVERY aspect of content theft that affects online business. Laws will not helps us, they don't care about "PORNOGRAPHERS" because they lump us into the same category as Meth, Prostitutes and pond scum lol

The little guy, heck even the bigger guys now, cannot afford to fight these types of things when law enforcement is of no help to us due to lack of interest and laws in our favor(s) over the matter(s). What can we do that will help? I'll sign up. Any start is a good start right?

Hey is there a reason that when I signed up for announcements and such that it created a wordpress login for me with publishing, editing and deletion rights or is this just a fancy far-out-solid-and-right-on way to do a forum where registered users can collaborate posts and create postings oooor is this like a game where I somehow just won the internet?

I'm wondering if it is not best for the average guy or gal to not spend time fighting the theft but rather to just keep going with marketing.

There is no international enforcement body and I sure as fuck do not want to give someone like the fucking Belgians power over my websites.

When you sign up you should just have access to publishing deleting and editing on the forum, if it's otherwise let me know and we will fix it.

Yes, we are trying to do something, we also have some money to kick into the pot to get this going.

The small group of us who started this off have kicked in about $10k between us already to fund the startup, so we're not playing games here. On July 1st we will announce a public meeting, we are trying to set this up as a webcast together with a chat room where people can post messages as the public meeting takes place.

We will then have a steering committee and be able to formally register the association. Shortly thereafter elections for office holders will take place. It's all voluntary at this stage however we may be able to employ a spokesperson once this all gets off the ground.

If you want to deal with this problem, then now is your chance. We wont be doing this a second time around.
