What is it with office max print pricing?
 

They want to charge me $1.15 EACH for a two sided flyer that is mostly a limited amount of text and a couple of very small graphics. Is there any way to get them to charge less than a "color copy price"

Then, if that wasn't bad enough, they want $.25 EACH for two sided black and white


AND all of this is on some I think he said 32# shit!!


What the fucking fuck ...

I have this office rewards card thing that will get me I think ten percent off, but christ, for the same price taradel wants for 5000 60# gloss I could have maybe 200 32# made?!

I guess it's because they're not set up for bulk printing, but man, $1.15?! Shit

They make their bulk profits off people needing small print jobs. larger jobs are cheaper however its by far cheaper to go with a company like minuteman express if you have one around you for bulk jobs.

I ran into a similar situation years ago. My conclusion?

If it's just a temporary thing, hire them to do it and eat it. Also, do not forget to check out smaller "mom & pop" type firms and check their pricing as well. Hell, if it's something that can be postponed a bit or something that may be in the distant future, throw up a help wanted advertisement on Craigslist. You may be pleasantly surprised at the results, especially if you are willing to buy paper, ink, etc...

Or... it's something you think will be an ongoing thing? Buy the gear. Buy your printer, ink paper and pump out as many as you want for pennies.

Anyways, that's my :2 cents:

Yeah... if I could find a printer that would take refills, I could do it for pennies or less... but don't most printers have chips in them these days that make the cartridge stop working whether there's ink in them, or not?

I guess I could get one of those resetter things

I am going to just have taradel do 10,000 for $300 .. probably .. rather than fucking with that shit

check out postcardpress.com they do great work cheap. upload online deliver in a few days.. been working with them for years...

They want $832 at http://www.nextdayflyers.com/glossy-...age-flyers.php .... I think Taradel is tough to beat on price.. But they also aren't "next day" - I think Taradel has a 1-2 week turnaround time
