SleazyDream, have you checked out the new service dotster is offering.

Transfer Lock prevents transfer requests for a domain to another registrar.

NameSafe prevents transfer requests for a domain AND all contact and nameserver updates must be approved by the owner of the account that owns this domain.

Well worth it for your domain.

DirectNIc has done this for awhile.

Quite the ease of mind after all that shit last year when people were losing domains.

Its easier than some think.

angelsofporn 01-25-2003 03:26 PM

Sleazydream be careful, Marina lost few days ago allstarsex.com with the same way. It was a 250k moviepost....... Directnic didn't do anything although it was obvious the domain got hijacked.

Stramm 01-25-2003 03:47 PM

yep, that's no fun... I bet you still can remember when my domain had been hijacked. That's some funny days till you have it back.

Do all you can to protect your stuff!

It's more than easy to brutal force a pop3, find the user/pass and get the confirmation email from the server....

?? she's the owner of the domain, registered at her name, Internic has to do everything in their power to give her back the domain... wtf...

Theo 01-25-2003 04:52 PM

yes,but they didn't.... sad thing because she had spent innumerable hours on it and a son of a bitch stole it.
