Buying domains on Sedo?
Bought a domain yesterday, paid for it as well. What kind of time frame am I looking at until I have the domain in my possession? The seller seems pretty active. Week? Two weeks?
|
The seller doesn't get his/her money until SEDO can verify the domain is now in your possession. I would simply make contact with the seller and ask for the Authorization code (EPP) and then have my preferred registrar initiate the transfer.
I would say a week, give or take a day or so up or down. |
1-2 days from my experience
|
It can happen in 1-2 days but it can take longer. SEDO has accounts at most registrars. If they have an account at the same registrar as the seller it will go quickly - a few days tops. If they do not it will take around 7 days from the time your registrar requests the domain with the auth code.
|
If you're doing a transfer from the seller's registrar to your registrar, ICANN rules state that the transfer should be approved by the losing registrar within 5 days after submitting a valid transfer request with the correct EPP code. This is assuming you bought a .com or something under the control of ICANN. non-ICANN ccTLDs may have different rules.
If the domain is being pushed to Sedo and then to you, it is usually quick, but can take much longer. I've seen Sedo listed in WHOIS, even months after I've pushed a domain to their account and received proceeds from the sale. |
10 days to 14 days. Sedo transfer agent is 1 overworked guy and only responds via ticket systeM

they are slow...
|
I agree with Pipecrew. Keep on top of the agent. They can become a little slow sometimes.

domain transfer takes time,
instead u should have used escrow service., pay to them, create free acount at registrar and tell seller to push the domain. domain receive at ur end and do whatever u wanna do. |
it took me over a week when I bought a domain from them.
|
takes a while with Sedo... could be 1 to 2 weeks.

Still waiting. I suppose I would be more patient if my "account rep" would answer his messages. Shelling out $850 with a service I've never used before and not getting any sort of reply is a little unnerving.
