The Real Truth About Shap :::
Now that Shap has "officially" retired and out of the biz, I can reveal what kind of man that he ?really? is.....
People in our industry have this impression that Shap is a good man, with a good heart. For some reason....they think that he's fair, he's honest and that he's ethical. Well, here?s the truth...... I've been working with Shap since 2005. In 2006, he signed me to a 1-year "exclusive" contract to shoot only for Twistys. The goal: to produce high-end, high-quality content and to set a standard of quality for the Twistys name and brand. I had never been under contract before and Twistys had never had a contracted producer before so it was a bit of a bumpy ride at times for both of us, but in the end - we rocked it the fuck out. In fact, some of the best content that I've ever shot in my whole life is on the Twistys site :thumbsup Over the years, through the love & support of Shap and the Twistys family, I've been able to hone my skills as a shooter/producer to levels that I never could have dreamed of. I've had so many great opportunities to work with such fabulous models - all thanks to Shap. It?s been a fabulous ride Shap!!!! I can tell you, without reservation, that Shap is one of the best in the biz. Not only a smart guy, but also an honest and ethical guy. From day one he has always been more than generous, more than fair and more than just a "client". We didn't always see eye-to-eye on matters, and still don?t today - but we never lost the drive to make Twistys an amazing destination for those looking for that type of content. I'm happy for Shap & Beth but sad to see Twistys change hands. Twistys has been such a big part of my life since 2006 - it's almost like losing a best friend :Oh crap So Thanks Shap - for allowing me to be such a big part of the Twistys family for all these years. For giving me a chance to grow and shine...when nobody else would. For the nice budgets, the support & encouragement and for the friendship. Good luck in your retirement and please look me up when you make it to LA again!!!! |

I wanted to post regarding the sale of Twistys - and I hope Dean doesn't mind me jumping in the back end of his thread.
I worked for Shap for three years -- and it was an incredible experience. Shap and Beth hired me to be a kind of all round production guy -- with no real job description. There were a couple of times early on in my career in porn that Shap would have been well within his right to fire me, but he preferred to stick with me and train me up so that I became stronger and better. He had no problems with my fuck-ups (and they were considerable) -- he just warned me to learn from them and to make progress. After the job with no real description kinda went sideways Shap moved me into the affiliate management role working with Kevin. Being in the same room as Michael, Kevin and Shap -- and hearing their ideas and passion for the internet really served as an inspiration to me. With Michael's and Shap's guidance and support I became the best I could -- and feel that I made a solid contribution to Twistys as well as developing a masters understanding of online relationship building and using the web as a money making medium. After leaving Twistys I have gone on the become the lead strategist for a digital agency working with iconic brands -- sitting in boardrooms handling multi-million dollar marketing budgets with MBAs and the elite of the Canadian marketing world. None of this would have been possible if it were not for Twistys and Shap -- thank you very, very much :) Shap gave me a bit of advice once (well, he told anyone who would listen). He said you can come to work and put your iPod on and just do your job, but you will miss out on all the discussions, and ideas -- if you are wearing your iPod you will not be able to contribute and will not be able to have your ideas heard. Sage advice! Thanks again Shap :thumbsup Sushi...??? |
