strangeporno.com was available and i was up tonight checking on that shit on godaddy refreshing, etc. Saw it was available and tried to grab it, purchased it etc.

Got a recipt followed by a failure and a promise to refund my 12 bucks in 72 hrs.

Called up godaddy and they told me we both tried to register it oat the same time. The time stamp showed technically they won it and i got screwed. Maybe if they didnt have 5 minutes worth of shit options to click through i would have been more fortunate lmao.

Oh well, I guess thats life. Just thought i would share my misfortune.
Do you think that would have been a great name if /i would have gotten it?

The name looked like a good one. Strangeporn.com isn't being used
at the moment. As L Pink stated above I am but a lowly affiliate. Smallest of the small frys. I probably would have built a site with affiliate stuff from kink etc. Maybe just let it age.

I hope you really aren't angry that I am using the affiliate tools. Anything on my sites are given to me by the programs that sponsor me and not by request, it was already there. I don't have deep pockets and any money I get from my sites is going to improve them. My goal over time is that I can invest, and coincidentally, be in a position that you would respect in the future. I do look forward to any opinions from you older, wiser folks in the biz. I posted about that earlier but I don't think anyone replied to it. :(

I seem to have bothered a few of you with lack of anal content or by mentioning that i was buying a domain name for affiliate usage. I apologize for that.

For them to charge and tell me it was mine, then to be told someone was literally a second or so ahead of me to checkout was disappointing. I fully anticipated someone putting a snap on it though, so I wasn't too too butt hurt, but enough to cry on here lol.

if you are going to use godaddy you might as well use the api, to avoid all that upsell bullshit, or use a registrar like namecheap where you just pick domain, put in payment and done, not all this bs godaddy tries to sell you with.

i wonder how many people accidently check a box when going to checkout not realizing what they are doing.

I've always disliked how registers can buy expiring domains and keep them for themselves. Seems like a huge a scam. They already get free traffic during the waiting to expire phase once the person is late paying. Which gives them a free test to see if the domain is worth buying when it finally does expire, which if it is what is the chances of you beating them out since they know the second it officially expires and you don't. As much as I like directnic, look at all of the domains they own, that they purchased when they expired. Seems like a conflict of intrest and greed to me. Do you want to be a register or a domainer and compete with your customers ???

I snagged it. I called up godaddy this time. The guy told me he'd never experienced that issue before and that maybe the domain was still under a red flag when i tried to get it. I made him re buy it with one of my cards on file so there wouldnt be an error this time around.

Lol yeah, i think you are correct. i just check and see these soon to be dropped domains and think to myself "This is a nice domain maybe it can make me some money" lol. Ive made nothing yet and spent more than a few bucks because of that thought lmao.
