Lots of people coasting on the highways now, less people going fast
Anyone else notice this? It seems people are a lot more willing to coast these days, with gas prices here above $1.30 a litre ($1.50+ for premium in my car). Seems like everyone is leaving more space between cars, less tailgating, and surely less accidents.
Is it just here or has anyone else noticed this as well? The one exception? Pickup truck drivers. They just can't help themselves. Likely their business is paying for their gas etc. |
I find the gap is widening out here in Vancouver: more people willing to take it easy off the line, but the super aggressive drivers are becoming even more retarded. They tailgate and whip around you at the last second, slicing traffic like they're in F1. Then we all end up at the same red light. So stupid. Thanks for risking my life and the lives of those around me for your own adrenaline rush.
I agree with you completely about the jacked up pickups. I would like to add that Odyssey minivans must have superchargers or turbos in them, because the moms and dads that drive them race them around like they're AMGs. |
Trend here is for people to just buy powerful diesels instead of powerful petrol cars and still drive at mach2 everywhere.

I love it when gas goes up.
The people who can least afford the price of gas going up are the idiots - the poor people - who are the crappy drivers anyhow. Gas goes up, the idiots can't afford to drive.... Less idiots on the road. Win win. |
80 kph is the optimal speed for gas consumption
