Seriously, we do we all use ICQ?
 

It is a huge piece of crap. Non stop problems (and spam) for me. Have not been able to connect in a few days now.

Yeah it sucks,but majority still using it so you cant do shit with it.I suggest you try different ICQ clients till you find one which can connect

I've been mostly using Skype now and trying to get more people to chat on there than icq.

Still ICQ. I haven't been having any problems with ICQ at all for some time now. It's become rather stable for me.

I use ICQ with Adium on the Mac. I never have any problems. I think the Windows ICQ clients have sucked for a long time. I am sure there are other IM programs for windows that support ICQ.

ICQ seems to be the IM method of choice in adult, I don't see it changing anytime soon.

icq works ok for me but I prefer msn or skype

Personally I'm on Jabber. Fuck ICQ.

The ICQ for Mac that ICQ provides is night and day different than the one they provide for PC. No issues with the Mac one either.

On Skype everyone wants to voice chat instead of type, lazy fuckers.

icq on pidgin, works like charm.

I would rather not it is just old school and now it is owned by AOL which I despise. I prefer skype.

I've dropped IMs completely. I'm a lot more productive without them. Anyone who wants to talk can send me an email and I will respond when I can.

i've noticed icq deleting peeps on my contact list. its so annoying. most recently ive been using gmail chat which has been working out well.

ICQ works fine most of the time if you use alternative clients.

AOL does not own ICQ anymore.

ICQ Blows and has for years. It was a major cause of bad performance on my PC (back in the day that I used pc's). It got really bad when they started allowing sound in banner ads. I would never install ICQ again.

Today I use Adium which works with both MSN and ICQ networks but without the ads. More and more though I am using SKYPE and even iChat. Both work great.

I'm always amazed how much time everyone seems to have to chat..........and then they complain they have no sales.

Skype it up

I much prefer Skype these days, but ICQ is a must have for most I talk to. I have version 2003b still and for me, that's the last decent version there is Every single time I try and get a newer version, I get nothing but spam, malware and all sorts of other issues.

havent had many issues with icq lately, i used to when i used it through trillian contacts were ALWAYS orphaning

I just use pidgin and it handles my yahoo and icq and msn accounts just fine.

I prefer Skype now more than anything.

ICQ here using the QIP Infium client. Much more stable and has a neat little anti-spam feature that works great. You can even make up your own question and answer for it.

I never signed up ICQ account. IM is a waste of time and I really feel that communication done via IM is usually not as well articulated and thought out as it should be, so there's no need to bother.

same here ... set it so others need to ask for permission to add you to their contacts - check their info and if all you see is gibberish crap you simply block the fuckers ...

I haven't allowed any type of instant messaging on any machine I own for many years. It is extremely counter productive IMO. It's even more intrusive than a telephone.

NO BUSINESS is so important and/or critical they need to be instantly contacted. If so then you surely have the decision makers phone number.

About a year ago I called (via cell) one of my salespeople due to a client urgency. He was too busy ICQing to take the call but did return the call later. He had installed ICQ on the laptop I furnished. I still have the client, I still have the laptop, I still have the cell phone, I no longer have the salesman.

I use ICQ because so far I haven't found a better alternative which would be as convenient at managing contact list, history and etc. I also use skype, msn but still ICQ is my preference, however I use it through an alternative QIP client
