Damn slow here in st. louis and can't get to many sites - timeouts or they are down?? Have T1 using an ISP called Nuvox.

Couldn't get to NastyDollars or even GFY for awhile....

Packet loss stats are high for most of the major providers

Just back up here in Michigan.. I could get our sites, but they were very slow (hosted in AZ) and a few others, but most everything was down.

Never seen a black out like that before.. Might even hear about it on the new tomorrow.

For those wondering why they're having trouble connecting to many sites here's why... There is a massive worm that has infected all Microsoft SQL servers that are doing a giant DoS attack on udp port 1314.

There is currently a major DDOS similar to codered/nimda circulating.

It is targetting Microsoft SQL Serers, on udp port 1434, with packets sized at 404 bytes.

Approximately 10-20% of the internet is "down" right now.

actually it is a lot more than 4 routers.
Its a spreading worm/ddos focusing UDP on port 1434.

This must be router specific. I see no unusual attacks on any ports.

It is not router specific, it is possible your carrier is filtering the packets. And, UUnet is not being attacked, they are just being hit hard from it for whatever reason (probably has something to do with them carring approx 50% of the internet table)

I'm sure it's just some nutty kids having fun. Either that or it's those fucking raghead muslims.:ak47:

Oh, and I might add, your filter might not see it, as these packets are not the type that most shitty windows firewalls would alarm you about.
