Highway Robbery In Tennessee

vsex 05-26-2011 08:00 AM

That is absolutely fucking crazy! What a scam!

Caligari 05-26-2011 08:03 AM

holy crap, they're highwaymen. law and crime synonymous.

sperbonzo 05-26-2011 08:39 AM

Disgusting. I knew it would come to this when they first passed these laws in the 80s. The thing was that the big drug lords were constantly getting off of charges because they could afford a phalanx of the best lawyers around, so the gov was trying to take their assets so that they couldn't do that. At the time though, I warned people that this would get more and more abused until this type of situation would come into play... Sure enough.

Modern day stage coach robberies. Conducted by the public servants.

Awesome.

DWB 05-26-2011 09:24 AM

Haha. Enjoy your future.

Sly 05-26-2011 09:29 AM

I bet this wouldn't happen near as much if the police department had to cover all legal fees associated with people fighting to get their money back.

Total disgrace.

beta-tester 05-26-2011 10:20 AM

fucking crooks.... I lived in TN for over a year, but honestly didn't know about this, altho. some stories about Georgian cops were similar...

Just Alex 05-26-2011 10:32 AM

So they're doing it for the money, admitted they were doing it for the money. Here's an idea, do away with their jobs. Now we won't have Gestapo tactics and there isn't a budget problem.

the fuck? i can understand why large amounts of cash in a car randomly is odd but i mean ive traveled from 25k one time and im sure cops would of thought it was drug money but it wasnt ;/

Zuzana Designs 05-26-2011 07:52 PM

Wow pretty fucked up shit. I have been traveling 40E between North Carolina and Tennessee a lot the last several months to help out my family as my dad and mom have both been in and out of surgery’s. Never knew this was going down. Money makes the world go around.

There was a good story a few years ago about a nursery/landscape company owner on his way to Florida to buy inventory when his truck was stopped and money confiscated. It really fucked up his life. No charges were made, no evidence of wrongdoing. Just cash for the local cops.

Bladewire 05-26-2011 08:12 PM

Nope, huge blocks of cold hard cash wrapped in electrical tape is not at all suspicious, nothing to see here folks :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I live right in the middle of this shit and could go on and on about these criminal organizations from experience.
