New Wordpress update... AGAIN!

Cant fucking take it. Luckily I let my adult-domains expire so now I only got ~30 sites to update. :1orglaugh

My customers don't have to worry about this constant headache, because their WP installs are automatically updated via xMarkPro. :) Plus they can easily create and manage all their domains and blogs (plus much more) from one central panel.

See sig. Contact me for a 25% discount, and I'll get you setup with an excellent, streamlined solution.

I'd just stop using WordPress if I were you. Go with software that doesn't update except once every 3 years maybe.

Or you can use Wordpress multi site or multi user as it's called I believe. I merged a bunch of blogs together with that to reduce the updating time. Saved me tons of time.

Yep noticed the update today on one of my sites

That would be a mistake. WordPress updates generally focus on security patches as much as feature set enhancements. Relying on software that is published, then ignored for years before finding its way back on to the development track, is a security nightmare.

Besides, WordPress updates itself at the push of a button :thumbsup

except that auto updating is dangerous the latest wp update breaks a number of plug ins and could make a site appear down.

i say update all blogs manualy and hate your life :)

RyuLion 05-26-2011 09:16 AM

Post list of expired domains..

fris 05-26-2011 09:41 AM

if you dont like it, dont run the software, do you update your windows everytime a patch comes out, or do you leave your system exploitable and ignore all windows updates?

djroof 05-26-2011 09:47 AM

no wordpress for me :(

CurrentlySober 05-26-2011 09:57 AM

i cant afford wordpress...

JD 05-26-2011 10:48 AM

i don't understand why people complain about WP updates. You're using FREE software to run sites that in theory should be making money/serving a purpose. If you want software that never breaks, doesn't need updates... ever, and has zero security holes then write it yourself. Otherwise kindly STFU.

And to all the people saying don't do an auto-upgrade... you be quiet too. I've auto upgraded thousands of installs and have NEVER once had a problem that wasn't more than "click to update plugin" or re-activating a theme.

Update again? Well, they do it too often...

TheSenator 05-26-2011 10:56 AM

I rather have a bunch of updates now than have a bunch of exploits to recover from later.

If you don't like it, then don't use it and cut the crap...
