does gfy need a new hosting company or what?

I swear for the last week or so gfy.com is down throughout the day. I cant get to the homepage at least 2 times a day... wtf?

anyone else having this issue? I know its not my internet because I have had it happen on my 4g wireless card, my ipad, my home internet and at my club. 4 separate connections from 4 separate internet providers... Its really getting annoying. ugh.

CyberHustler 05-21-2011 08:02 PM

Yeah, right now their host is sucking old cat balls.

Barefootsies 05-21-2011 08:50 PM

A month ago everyone was cheering the move of GFY to this new web host, and a working search function. A month later, everyone wants whomever's head on a stick.

:1orglaugh

clitcartel 05-22-2011 01:27 AM

well I can understand some downtime on maintenance or whatever but its a constant thing lately. I mean Id be pissed if my sites were down this much...

V_RocKs 05-22-2011 02:12 AM

GFY is great.

Hosting is top notch.

Don't hate. Congratulate!

Chosen 05-22-2011 02:34 AM

Yeah, there were several downtimes and database errors lately...

ottopottomouse 05-22-2011 03:49 AM

Not really noticed it being any worse than other sites I visit.

u-Bob 05-22-2011 03:58 AM

I've noticed 1 hr or so of 'down time'. Other than that, the board has been a lot faster than it used to be.

babymaker 05-22-2011 04:04 AM

Yea it's been down a ton for me too, i probably wont be able to make this post :D

GFY being down is business as usual for me over the years.

When I can't get to gfy I don't even think about it because I expect it to happen
eventually.

Database error is what I get a lot of times when trying to post.

marlboroack 05-22-2011 11:18 AM

It was down not to long ago for me as well.

Scott McD 05-22-2011 12:27 PM

Shit happens...

SDA CASH - Banned for Life AGAIN 05-22-2011 02:52 PM

GFY should use WEBAIR

except for that downtime a couple of days ago, I personally haven't noticed any problems. to be honest: gfy's a lot more responsive now than it used to be.

PGR 05-22-2011 03:15 PM

I was experiencing the same issues, but then I decided to reset my modem and get a new IP, and suddenly I was able to browse as usual. This has happened twice over the past few days.

barcodes 05-23-2011 07:29 AM

Bump for this morning's outage lol.

Wizzo 05-23-2011 07:39 AM

Yeah, its for sure been having some issues as of late.

Hi guys, some of you may noticed that GFY went down for 20min two weekends ago. It was an outcome of a massive denial of service attack we effectively prevented fast. We had to ban a lot of zombie IPs and some of you may got affected. Also, when we redirected gofuckyourself.com to gfy.com we had to write a small script to get you automatically logged when you get redirected. This causes a slowdown in some cases and I just requested its removal.

Overall since the move to level3 the performance increased and those of you that still experience problems you'll see them very soon resolved. GFY's traffic has increased a lot and the month of May we hit a 3y. record of traffic and ad impressions.

dyna mo 05-25-2011 09:39 PM

having some serious time outs again, just to let you know. :-)

barcodes 05-25-2011 09:45 PM

It's the strangest thing. During the day when I am at work (9 - 5 eastern time gmt-6) i get knocked out every 10 or so minutes for like 5 minnutes. I log into facebook vimeo, twitter etc without a problem but time out like crazy when i try too respond, etc. Seems to have gotten worse as the days pass.

Fine tonight so far.

Is it me? No idea what to do to fix it if it is me. Oh and my boss is an old fashioned guy/mac user with all of us being pc users. He has no idea how to use a pc let alone how to filter anything out. No filters at all from the bossman.

Fat Panda 05-25-2011 09:45 PM

working fine here today

clitcartel 05-26-2011 02:20 AM

just down for me for the past 20 minutes.... ugh.
