Cost Effective CDNs? Choopa is working very slow for me :( Any CDN or CDN Hosting recommendation?
Hey guys! I'm right now hosting my stuff at choopa.com, their support is nice, they seem like a solid company, but i'm noticing some slow speeds streamming on some surfers locations and i dont like, i always hire a lot of bandwidth over what i'm consuming, my server RAM, Disck I/O and Processor is 90% idle ... So this is certainly something on their bandwidth .....
So ... Who can recommend me a good, not expensive CDN network? Maybe even a new hosting company??? who knows .... Thanks guys :) |
OnanistsCash I would be happy to help you with your CDN and hosting. Please contact me and we can work out a plan for you.

Amazon has one: http://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/

Decent budget hosting, but We have some billing gripes with them. Over small change too but its the principal. Getting quotes on moving about 30 servers and we buy new ones every couple months.
Our gripe is when we shut down dated servers, we don't get credited properly. Thing is we always expanding. |
i didn't know that Choopa had their own CDN.
Contact me as I run the adult vertical at Limelight Networks and our cost are well in line with the competition where our network shows for itself. Going through a reseller has some advantages however, in many cases you only get the core services without the expertise to fine tune your caching efficiency. Contact me if you would like to know more. |
MAXCDN.com
Check the proper forum here for the coupon code. Something like MAXGFY or some shit... its in the proper forum for this. Might be titled NetDNA since they run that company too. |
I can recommend Webair CDN :) They're awesome
|
Do not choose anyone until you've talked to the guys at Reflected.net/Swiftwill.com as their CDN has excellent performance and is priced well.

Talk to webair Mike. I have a couple dedicated servers with them and they have been great for the last 6 years. When I need something done I use the live help and it gets taken care of.

Anyway,if you want real deal CDN you need to do your own configuration. And that means following-one dedicated server in California for Asia and western usa,one in New York or Miami for east Usa and south america, and one in London for europe. You can apply geo proxy in httpd server conf and it can work like a charm. If you have toosmall traffic number to justify such investment, then you need to check your traffic logs and start with vps for geo parts from where it coming less traffic.

OnanistsCash, I just sent you an email with some info on our CDN and fully managed hosting. We would love to work with you.

Hey guys! here is the thing, off course i never think on going for a cheap option like hostgator, i have a couple of servers, TeraByte discs in raid, lots of ram, dedicated server running different processes in shell ( ffmpeg, custom scripts, mysql, etc ), etc.
BUT, i just saw a HD video hosted at hostgator which runs way faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaster than my PAID DECIATED SERVERS!!! How the fuck is this possible?!?!?! I'm located in Argentina! |
