The lawyer for Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski, who is serving life in prison for sending a series of deadly mailbombs, says his client has been asked to provide a DNA sample as part of the FBI's long-running investigation into the 1982 Tylenol poisonings that killed seven people, USA TODAY's Kevin Johnson reports.

Attorney John Balazs says Kaczynski refused the FBI request to voluntarily provide the sample when he approached by federal prison staffers three weeks ago in Colorado where he is being held in solitary confinement.
