Do you take your lunch to work or buy it?
I have an office by myself and I hate going to lunch by myself. I also hate fast food so I've starting to bring my lunch every day. Can anyone recommend anything healthy and microwavable? I've been making big pots of chili, pasta, etc. and taking leftovers. But after 4-5 days of chili, or anything, it gets really old.

Make a big salad. Somedays put tuna on it, somedays pieces of chicken or steak cut real thin from dinner the night before. Use croutons so you have something crunchy. It's easy to eat while working, good for you too.

I bring my lunch everyday except Friday

And vary it up, put in sunflower seeds, raisins, green grapes, salsa, etc. You can eat a different type of salad everyday. And it's good for you. Plus if you're working you can pick at it a lot longer than a sandwich or something hot.

I bring lunch 4 days a week, for the same reasons you mentioned. I usually bring left overs from dinner the night before, once a week I'll have a Healthy Choice meal, sometimes a bowl of soup, or I'll assemble a chicken salad or tuna salad sandwich at work (I dislike soggy bread). Every now and then I'll run to a nearby grocery store and pick out a bowl of fresh fruit and a salad, carrot sticks and hummus or something healthy like that.

7 meals a day doesn't really allow me to do anything but bring some from home. I always prepare everything the night before.
Meals consist of chicken or fish with rice or sweet potatoes. Easily microwavable or even cold. |

it's actually only LESS then %20 real hummus, the rest are preservatives and crap to make it taste better and have a good texture. |
I worked from home from 2004 till 2009 so just ate what was available. Since I started working out of PIMPROLL offices I mostly bring lunch to the office. Most days its just basic sandwiches, but if my girlfriend makes too much for dinner I bring that next day, things like stir fry, lasagne, and so on.
Today's lunch is left over Carbonara from a great little Italian Restaurant we went to last night. Portions are incredible so I brought my leftovers home for today's lunch! |
I cook at home and work from home. :)

usually i bring a lunch.
its healthier, and less expensive. if you put the 300 a month away, actually put it somewhere each month, that is a decent vacation you can take with your wife each year :) |
As most here work from home, I guess they walk into the kitchen. :1orglaugh
I know I do. :thumbsup |
My wife is an awesome cook... Frankly her leftovers are much better than any lunch place. She puts together a nice lunch for me in the mornings and I take it into my office happily
.:thumbsup:thumbsup |
I just nibble on pussy all day ;)

when the meals on wheels lady comes to bring your dinner ask her to take it into your livingroom. or at least ask your care assistant to. otherwise you may fall. its shoddy the care they give you at your home. if your were in a uk care home they have higher standereds. see if you can get into a better care home. |
