Stock experts: Easy way to see what an old stock would be worth today?

Saw that HP dropped a solid 8+% today, so I looked at their historical chart at google finance:

http://www.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:HPQ

I'm curious, is a stock bought in 1985 at say $4.50 worth roughly 8x that, at today's price of $36.50? Or have the splits affected its value for someone who bought in 1985? The splits are marked as S's on google's charts.

If it's not that simple, is there an online calculator or something that would work it out?

$4.50 in 1985 = $36.50 Today

Could be a good time to buy Jan 2012 $35 Calls.

In the money, expiry is 8 months out, high volume/open interest...
