Mobile question: what's a good ratio?
 

I have sent about 500 unique mobile users to sponsor but got no sign-ups so far. Is that OK?
I was under the impression that mobile ratios usually better then regular is that so?

If it's a free site doing a redirect, that's not a bad ratio at all. It could be better, and it dang sure could be worse. Mobile is a filter game, the better you filter, the more sales you'll get.

For hard redirected traffic? Yes.

German traffic is as low as 1:13 for April/May :) still redirected traffic

Here's some more numbers for ya:

Astralia: 1:19
Chile: No sale
France: 1:33
India: No sale
Indonesia: 1:10 (but makes almost nothing pr. sale on account of their crappy billing)
Netherlands: 1:26
Norway: 1:14
Poland: 1:86
US: No sale (with a ton of traffic, don't send US traffic there - it's a waste)

*shrug* compared to my other ratios, this is pretty good. I have sponsors where I've sent more than 200.000 hits and NOT ONE sale.

Well just filter it, send the traffic that you know converts (Germany, UK) and then send the rest elsewhere..

and do let me know when you find a good one for US traffic. The majority of my traffic is US based so I filter that out and am still trying to send it new places.

Just made my first mobile sale, ratio is 1:582.

You should filter the various countries mobile off to companies who can optimize those phones and popular billing methods.

We have found aff4you (Wister) great with French traffic, SexGoesMobile for German and Kimia for Spanish. The traffic is minimal usually, depends on the source of traffic. I had one guy who just happen to have a ton of German traffic. It coverts and retains quite well because over there they can bill to their phone and they do weekly charges of $4.95. It might not seem like a lot at first, but trust me, it builds up quickly. Average conversion is about 1:50 if even that.

For US, you want to make sure that the tours you are promoting are in fact 100% optimize for all the phones popular here - iPhone, Android and Blackberry. Many sites claim to be mobile optimized and they are not. Average conversion varies, but should be better than a normal PC ratio.

Also, are you using a whitelabel?

nowadays any ratio is good ratio as far as u get the money. :)

It's hard to judge the truly quality of the traffic with only 500 clicks. You would need to send thousands over days or even weeks really to get a true picture in terms of quality of the traffic you are sending or the program you are working with.

With what sponsor? :)

To answer that question best you should send 1000 uniques to 3-5 different sites/sponsors and then pick the best. Certain programmes count traffic different to how others do, so 1:500 with Sponsor A might not be worth as much $ as 1:2000 with Sponsor B. There is a lot of variables at play. Like others have said, filter off your European traffic and try and monetize it efficiently and concentrate on sending your USA traffic to someone with really good sites.

Btw just to be fair, those are NOT mobile ratios. I've check out sextronix mobile sites and they look pretty cool. I'll try them out now with US traffic :)
