pic I took on levee just before morganza spillway opened
I went to the levee to take pics of the water levels before they opened the morganza spillway.
http://www.ch33rs.com/pics/high-river.html :thumbsup yeah i know, not that exciting, but its clearly very high,... |
I just read that they are already shooting ten foot gators turning up on levees.... and they are warning people about the feral hogs. :(
|

why do you communicate through a web board? |

They also say the bear population has rebounded quite a bit since the last flood in 73, and they swim really good so watch out. :1orglaugh
|
Really though u can tell by the trees its craaaazy high and I've never seen this in my life ppl are fishging from top of levee!
|
I actually have only heard about this swamp people show from this board. So I just looked it up. LOL, they actually did a show on this. It is like Treme, nobody from here watches it.
But yeah, that is the area flooding right now. The people who did that show must be so excited right now! :1orglaugh oh man. funny. I wonder if they have any drunk frogging episodes.... hahahaha |

to give you guys an idea, by those trees is at least 10-12 feet? you can usually walk there
|
im going to go take more pics tomorrow and see how levels have changed :thumbsup
thats just a pic from my phone i have more with real camera yet to upload... |
Full up 'after' pics without a before showing what it should be like are a bit meaningless.
|
meaningless like your posts in ALL my threads - welcome to ignore list hahaha you post in EVERy thread i make and you ALWAYS negative towards me, gooooodbye. no idea who you are, forget i exist and ignore me.
|
to bad you dont have a before photo to show the levels.. Or Normal levels at least.
|
Not everybody lives in Louisiana. Without a pic of what it should be like to compare, a pic of it supposedly being really high just shows a lot of water and nothing to measure against.

but yes you are correct :thumbsup you can normally walk near those trees in areas hahah |
For something almost the opposite: I visited a man made lake that had virtually dried up due to drought over about 10 years. It was so low that you could see the original river beds. I discovered by accident an old bridge that's usually hidden well below the waterline.
There was a lot of rain late last year, ironically causing flooding, which has filled the lake back up to capacity again. It was very strange being able to walk over a bridge that had been submerged for 40 years... it's hidden under the water again now... |
wow man any pics? that sounds awesome
