You afraid of birds?

I never liked big birds :helpme

A boston man was attacked and sent to the hospital in Somerville by hawks!

Mike Doherty was walking along a path through Tufts University when the birds struck.

The birds clawed at Doherty's face, leaving him with 15 stitches and cuts on his head.

Since the attack, the school has put up a barrier fence and posted signs that warn about a hawks nest built into a fire escape on the side of a campus building.

Doherty is scratched up but says it could have been worse.

The school is now working with Mass fish and wildlife to determine options for safely moving the nest.

Birds are pretty amazing, they are alot smarter than we really understand and give them credit for.

Not just parrots, but crows have been shown to remember people and faces for years. Almost makes you wonder what this guy did to set the bird off, ha ha.

alexchechs 05-10-2011 08:46 AM

Birds suck... can't stand them

96ukssob 05-10-2011 08:48 AM

when i was a kid, I had a dog that ate a birds nest and the birds started attacking my dog. i was swinging at them with a bat while the dog was eating them... which is how that moron goes into this predicament in the first place :1orglaugh

Interesting, but see how the caging takes it's toll. The birds sometimes are too smart to be lab rats and turn to plucking out their own feathers and other stress based behavior.

I love birds. I still get a bit upset when my cats (2) and dogs (4 of 'em) leave carcasses scattered over the yard. At least they haven't gotten any Cardinals or Blue Jays, but the Mourning Dove, Sparrow, and Robin populations drop drastically every summer.

BTW, my Jack Russell and Chihauhau kill more birds, mice and squirrels than my cats can ever dream of killing.

P.S. There's a boyfriend bucks banner flashing man cock while I'm trying to type. Distracting...

She would insist I put my hand/arm out then put the bird on it. He would sit there for a few minutes looking cute and adorable then suddenly bite the shit out of me. Every fucking time. (he was green btw)

My mom called the other day and said an Eagle around her neighborhood snatched a baby dog or cat. Googled it and I guess they can carry like 4 or so lbs. Nuts

But no, I'm not.

The only time I've been terrified of an animal was during a desert camping trip and there were wild wolves outside of our tent. That definitely made me freak out.

Shey 05-11-2011 04:43 AM

I'm just afraid of small peckers!

czarina 05-11-2011 05:13 AM

ouch, poor guy! Hawks can be very mean, we had one get into our chicken coup (years back when we had a small ranch), and he ate all the baby chickens but one, and killed several hens

I'm not sure what kind it was, we have a bunch of them they are dark and light redish in the chest. My cat had the same kind of bird on the front porch I felt soooo bad as he/she was not dead and I could kill him.:(
