I bought the 60Mbps cable upgrade
And it's disappointing. The only site I have found that will actually let you download at that speed is speedtest. I have tried a lot of sites and so far none of them have even been close to 60. Webpages do load faster. Almost like switching channels on television. If you are looking to download 12 - mp3's per second ,good luck.

at least you are now able to win the forum epenis comparisons with the speedtest badge
|
i think you are expecting 60 MB/s which is different than Mbps. Most sites capping you are 6-7 MB/s? that should be your full speed

I have it here in Vegas, and LOVE it!
|
what sites are you downloading from, it is possible the sites you are getting it from dont have the bandwidth available. speedtest obviously is built to max out speed.

This is kind of like buying a race car and then complaining that it doesn't really go 150 miles per hour because the speed limit signs say 55. :-)

Mbps = megabits not megabytes

sometimes my upload speed is "held back" by the server I am uploading to, for example... like Clips4Sale can't accept a fast ass upload, but when I upload to my own server, it is a rocketship! I just ran a speedtest...and I am uploading to my server now...and downloading from it as well, during this test. http://www.speedtest.net/result/1289029926.png :P |
Charter is supposed to be launching it in my area in June/July, I've been anxiously awaiting it.

I have 54mbps at home and at the office. You never get that much unless you are downloading from Microsoft or apple plus you're wired (not wireless).

I do love my office connection. 6 months earlier I was on 6/3 only... This costs ~$110/m :pimp |
Downloading mp3's, movies etc from usenet servers like giganews.com or similar will give you max download speed. As fast as your connection can handle.

I have 70 mb/s :)

I am so envious of you guys. 60MBPs is a PIPEDREAM where I'm at.
|
I'm at 100/100mbps fiber for $30 a month. One of the few reasons Sweden rocks.
speedtest.net always give me sucky upload speed though http://www.speedtest.net/result/1289405537.png |
