Where can I find "Porn Statistics"? (i.e., most popular sites, % of users who ____, etc)
Google doesn't suffice here, full of half-baked claims and thought you guru's (you're guru's, right????) could help. Basically I'm looking for:
- Porn statistics in general (as in the % of people browsing/downloading porn at any given time, the amount spent each day, etc) - List of the top (pay) subscription-based porn sites online (both gay or straight). I'm (obviously) not asking you to give me a full list, just some popular subscription-based websites you know of. tyvm |
Context? Like for what purpose?

on the internet.

I am guessing student doing "research".
EDIT: Make that lazy student. |
the best site in the world is mine...

This industry does not keep track of any of that, they just tell everyone what they want them to think. Honestly.

it's a very good question and I understand why you're looking for that info: for the very reason it doesn't even exist. The closer you may get to a research on the subject is http://internet-filter-review.topten...tatistics.html which handles data from 2005-2006 .
You may find snippets of data here and there if you do some research, but other than the above, I don't know of any organized research. As for some help: - Top design/development firm in adult - Most sought after male in adult - Hottest female webmaster - Top adult site by number of users - Top adult site by number of PAID users - Amount of GFY users who are active in this industry: |

From time to time some company or another will produce some wonderfully fabulous report claiming this or that, a zillion people will take snippets of that information and publish it to back up their own claims of this or that but for the most part there really isn't any real information like that available.
Awhile ago I started Fame Registry with what little statistical information there is to rank and track porn stars using some sort of attempt at having real data but as far as the rest of the industry goes, I just don't know that you can really find that kind of information. Even so called sales charts to try and see which studio is best is faked or fudged in one way or another. Forget trying to find out real sales #'s on movies. Those are as fake as it gets. When someone says they sold 50,000 units it really means 5,000 (if that) and if someone tells you they moved 8,000 units of a gonzo title that really means 800. People are just so full of shit they will say anything to make you think they are fabulous. In terms of websites, if someone says 1 million visitors an hour, I try not to fall out of my chair laughing but you know there are people who actually claim that about their websites. 1 in 3 people who surf porn are females. REALLY? -rolls eyes- No. That isn't true either. LOL I would say that probably 1 in 50 might be females but maybe not even that. 1 in 3? LOL In terms of top pay sites, Alexa isn't really all that accurate but you could use it to grab some information from it and be remotely right. Well maybe not remotely but probably as close as you are going to get. LOL Here is my favorite Alexa quote -- "Visiting Alexa is much like going to see a psychic and requesting a palm reading so you will know your future. Sure it's fun and maybe puts your mind at ease just a little but it doesn't really mean anything said is true." http://lukeford.com/2011-03-23/are-s...at-uninformed/ |

Is there something like that but is backed up by real numbers? ANY LIST that involves showing a list of pay-related porn sites would be helpful. Quote:

get an alexa top 1000 list and pull the paysites out of that.
|
It is interesting how little real hard data is out there.
Also how people have such firm beliefs based on NO data... ALEXIA has a lot of faults but is a rough guide to how much traffic a site gets (or its hosted galleries ) The industry is like a pyramid with a few companies at the top with 80% of the traffic / wealth etc and the bottom 80% sharring the left over 20% .... this is common in most industries in free market capitalist systems... |
This is all the data you need.
http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?&w=40...u=youporn.com& And that's just Alexa users on 5 Tubes. :( http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?&w=40...rdsextube.com& And then these. |

Sexcounter used to be exact measure of top sites, but now probably none of top 100 porn sites use it anymore.

Here is an industry stat I found today. Who knows if it is true or how it came to be but ya ....
According to the Los Angeles Public Health Department, in 2005 alone, there were an estimated 200 adult film companies (5-10 of which did half of the films) and 6,000 workers (1,200 of whom were porn actors) in Los Angeles County. Got it from an article here http://www.********.com/read.php?ID=48450 |

Dont any of you guys know some really popular pay-membership type websites, or know of a list of them? |
It's all on a pie chart locked up in a safety deposit box at the Chatsworth Wells Fargo. Can you read pie charts?
Just kidding. Here's a recent thread with a link to prvt financial reports. I personally feel that reading them in sequence can definitely help someone gain a better understanding of the past decade from a macro standpoint. Good luck. https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1021593&highlight=prvt |
