jwplayer or flowplayer? What do you prefer?
 

Looking for advice, leaning towards jwplayer at the moment (as it has some of the features we want/plugins), but also seriously considering flowplayer.

Not to confuse the issue, but I have used both, and like them each. The Flowplayer, in particular, I use on the assorted blogs I have to promote my sites.

Prefer JWPlayer. Has all the functions I need and works out cheaper too.

I dont use either.

Used only flowplayer, and it's good.

neither if you use the X2K Media Suite CMS it comes with its own player with more features than both...

What's the pricing for that? For around 220 sites across 8 servers?

i like flow player but it makes page load slower than jw player.. so jw player here..

You can achieve the equivalent free with wordpress and a few pluggins.
Some may dispute the scalability of a WP based CMS but most any minor to medium sized site it is affordable and highly effective. Since free is very affordable and WP is very effective.

IMHO, JWPlayer is better for novice users and/or experience people who wants to use a very good yet basic player (I mean without plugins and further customization). Flowplayer is better for those looking for way more features, more power and less server load on multiple video player environments. Both are very good and I use them both on a regular basis, depending on the project I'll use one or the other, although as of late I'm leaning more and more to Flowplayer

Just in case, what I meant is that the real difference I see is JWPlayer is more convenient for simple fast loading pages (when using only 1 player) and it's easier to setup. Flowplayer is like 100x more customizable and way faster on advanced setups. Plus, I've found that when you start to tweak JWP it becomes more and more unstable and it starts to take a lot of resources, while FP is slightly heavier on simple setups, but it doesn't have many problems if you add 100 instances of FP (JWP will probably not even work at that point). And on multisite environments sharing the same database or if you use AJAX or any kind of parallel loading, FP has no rival at all. I really didn't test it in depth, but I think JWP won't even work at that point.

I like JW Player ver. 4.

JW because it's more popular so there will likely be more features/mods/support.
