I have probably 8-9 pairs in diff colours , after a while I got tired of them. Hard to do shows in them, because they are not that comfortable for walking around all day:winkwink:

I've worn many a pair of chucks over the years. I also have gone through some vans, etc.

I think probably of what's out there in a flat canvas sneaker I think Macbeth's are where it's at:

Visually they are all kinda the same, but the Macbeth's seem to have a tad more cushion and support, which at the end of a long day hoofin it can go a long way.

Best sneakers I ever had were NM70's

Company went under a few years ago, but i wore those things till the soles wore through. They were that awesome.

If you still have the Chucks' that say "Made in the USA" on the back label, you got a collectable there :)

I have an all black pair of hi top Chucks that are 15 years old. My all black lo tops are 5 years old or so and I wear those most of the time.

I've got 3-4 more pairs that have been purchased in the past few years.

Might have to go out a grab a new pair now. Thanks for the thread.

Fuck, look-alikes are 20 EUR here!

LAJ 05-06-2011 08:11 AM

I've been wearing chucks since 1984. I think the longest I kept a pair before throwing them out was about 15 years.

candyflip 05-06-2011 08:28 AM

My kids all have their first pair of Chucks too. They grow out of them quickly, so thankfully Target has an exclusive One Star line that are a bit less cashwise.

PSA: wash your chucks, people.

nothing wrong with running em through the wash eh.

i have a pet peeve about disgusting, walking petri dishes with laces, so i'd appreciate it.

Gabriel 05-06-2011 03:51 PM

I have a couple pairs 2 black, 1 brown, 1 blue, 1 sailor jerry, 1 blue plaid, 1 grey plaid.

My girl makes sure they always have a white toe cap and clean laces.

Chucks are cooler than Jack Purcells.

With all respect that pair was just nearly reaped apart and the smell was real strong! :)

CaptainHowdy 05-10-2011 07:25 AM

Used them to play drums. Twisted my ankle with them too. Overall, cool story.
