GREENDOT and MONEYPAKS ... The Holy Grail of Cash Payment Solutions

GreenDot and MoneyPak MONEYPAK.com have been around for a few years. They are HUGE and getting bigger ... FAST

If you conduct business with the general public selling digital content or physical goods you want to learn more about MoneyPak.

I have been accepting Green Dot payments - under the radar - from customers for years. They love it because there is no "paper trail" whatsoever. All they do is bring cash to a retail outlet that sells the MoneyPaks and buy the MoneyPak in the exact amount they want +$4.95 service fee.

FWIW: I have never heard anyone complain about the $4.95 ... but they love the simplicity and anonymity.

Up until recently Merchants couldn't take MoneyPak payments "officially" but that has changed.

I think MonwyPak / GreenDot is totally awesome and will soon become the "next big thing" in adult payment processing.

The main reason that they blow the competition away: DISTRIBUTION.

They are in the US and Canada. Not sure about any other parts of the World at this time

You can get a MoneyPak at Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, 7-11, HESS, Radio Shack, Winn Dixie and more being added on a regular basis.

I have been in search of a good cash payment solution for 10 years. MoneyPak is BY FAR the best thing going.

I am fairly certain that adult websites can qualify to become an official MoneyPak partner. I have read every word of their TOS and see nothing that would prohibit adult sites.

Have any of you have contacted them and been approved? Turned down? I'm eager to try but frankly, I'm a bit worried that I'll have my "under the radar" operation found out if there is a problem with adult.

Feedback please.

Thanx

Neil

I have a GD card that I never used.

pornguy 05-04-2011 07:13 AM

Never heard of either. Care to show some of the things they are involved in?

Agent 488 05-04-2011 07:14 AM

Pay attention numbnuts:

MoneyPak is the best thing going because of DISTRIBUTION which makes it EXCEEDINGLY EASY for people to pay you.

Making it easy to get paid = More Sales

Would you be so kind to name ONE other alternative payment solution that is as EASY and CONVENIENT as MoneyPak. Just one.

It's the Hoodrat "Credit" Card

But widely used and accepted. I think they have a deal with Paypal/Ebay too.

CyberHustler 05-04-2011 07:41 AM

They're not bad... As far as these prepaid debit card shits go, they're the best.

CXA 05-04-2011 09:15 PM

What has recently changed is that they are promoting MONEYPAK as the best way to pay for things. Purchasing their debit card is NOT REQUIRED.

You can fund PayPal and eBay with MONEYPAK .. MoneyPaks can be used to pay for Cellular service with several providers. People can pay their day-to-day bills with MoneyPaks.

Again, the key to the spectacular success of MoneyPaks is DISTRIBUTION. They can be bought EVERYWHERE in EVERY CITY / TOWN large and small.

Hopefully they're not Adultophobic like PayPal. Anyone have any info on that?

chronig 05-04-2011 09:45 PM

of course they're adultophobic like paypal, since they're associated with paypal... :uhoh

btw - you can only fund paypal accounts using green dot with US paypal accounts ;(

also - i can't see you being able to load your account from various locations like you're saying "under the radar" unless your volume is like 500$/month :uhoh ...

Actually, there are quite a few cash processing company's. One Cash Payment company in particular I know well is used by Amazon merchants, HP and Dell to name a few, but their service fee is $3.95 - cash payments online isn't new.

However it has not been implemented with a lot of sites yet, especially adult, and it absolutely increases online sales (not recurring, but product or one-time sales). I'm not sure about moneypak itself, but the business model is viable.

Oh, and the cash processing company I'm talking about is world wide:

100,000+ locations in the U.S.
300,000 in Brazil (Post Office and banks)
240,000+ kiosks in Russia and C.I.S. countries

• 700,000+ Payment Center locations
• Credit card failure save program
• Option to pass costs to end user
• Multilingual payment tools
• World Class security – PCI compliant

• 1 Billion new potential customers
• Eliminates charge backs
• Eliminates interchange costs
• Eliminates credit card fraud
• Convert credit card declines into sales

I'm just sayin....

AG:

This certainly sounds interesting.

Are you keeping the name a secret for some reason or another?

I would love to take a closer look at them. They seem to have more of a Global presence.

Green Dot appears to be limited to the US and Canada.

GD is not a perfect solution but so far it's the best one I've found.

Because MoneyPaks can be bought in so many retail locations across America it makes paying in cash a very convenient thing for the end user. And convenience is what it's all about.

I'll contact Green Dot next week and find out what their policy is vis-a-vis the adult internet. Stay tuned

Yes, there are plenty of reloadable cards and programs out there.

Here's the billion dollar question:

Can any of those be funded as conveniently as MoneyPak?

Are their locations found on just about every street in every town and city, large and small?

It's all about convenience to the end-user. Anyone disagree with that?

DateDoc 05-06-2011 08:17 AM

Doesn't green dot have a monthly fee and also charge you to upload funds? Something like $4.95/mo and $4.95 per upload. I think they cap the max upload too so they can rip you off on fees.
