Anyone familiar with NameCheap.com?

My normal registrar has TRIPLED their fees within the past year or so, so I'm looking for a new one.

Is NameCheap.com reliable and stable?

Thanks in advance!

Pseudonymous 05-03-2011 09:46 PM

Yes it is, they've been around for a while and I have had no complaints

kane 05-03-2011 09:49 PM

I use them and have never had a problem with them.

Jakez 05-03-2011 09:51 PM

Been with them for at least 5 years or so. Besides the huge increase in pricing (which i'm sure happened everywhere) and the new interface that just takes some time getting used to, I have no complaints.

Babaganoosh 05-03-2011 10:25 PM

Been with them since registerfly fucked me over several years back. So far namecheap has been pretty good.

cooldude7 05-03-2011 10:27 PM

namecheap all the way, u can trust them, imho.

domains are same, good prices, if u have more than 50 domains in ur accoutn, then they have special coupons for u,

CYF 05-03-2011 10:27 PM

Namecheap's been reliable for years and I've had no problems at all.

If you have prescription or RX type domains I wouldn't keep them there though, their hands are tied on those and legitscript will suspend them.

See sig for coupons, including transfer coupons to namecheap.

Sid70 05-03-2011 10:34 PM

been using them since 2001.

Same experience here, registerfly at the end was a nightmare and most got moved to Namecheap and they've been great.

phasic 05-03-2011 10:54 PM

Ive got 30+ domains with them, Im pleased.

leg4 05-03-2011 10:57 PM

I work for the largest Web Host in the USA and lots of people come to us and say NameCheap has treated them like an old tampon.

Of course, I don't hear the good, only the bad.

blonda80 05-03-2011 11:05 PM

i use NameCheap since few years and i like them

Been with NC for a few years.. user interface is kickass.. plus the discounts rule.

So first go to Namecheap

then, transfer all your domains using this discount code.. While registration discount coupons change monthly, the transfer discount code has been the same for some time now, and it?s SWITCH2NC. This will drop the price to $6.99 per domain and prolong the registration period for 1 year. They offer free WhoisGuard for the first year too.

then for any NEW DOMAINS use this discount code: ILUVMOM

Sin_Vraal 05-03-2011 11:22 PM

They are a reliable service, but you should do some searching on these forums... you might want to look into it deeper.

DigitalTheory 05-03-2011 11:30 PM

Namecheap for domains. I have been with them for years.

You're just playing, right?

Actually, its quite interesting. If you look at those who've posted in this thread... a large number joined in 2005 or prior. In other words, veterans of the industry who have a lot of experience in domains and ecommerce.

I am with them, but only have one 'gripe'

I moved all my domains from godaddy, where they had been for about 8 years. When they were up for renewal, godaddy charged my card and renewed automatically. That was fine.

I Heard nightmares about godaddy, and I admit, I got scared, so I moved to namecheap.

No problem with them at all, aside rom 1 niggle. It appears that in order for them to auto renew, they cant just take it from my card like godaddy did. It appears that I need to keep a 'fund' with them, for them to use.

This means I need to check in at the start of each month, and make sure I have $100 or so available in the namecheap account. I have no problem with paying for the domains, but I dislike having to keep a balance with them.

Thats the only thing I dont like - Am I doing it wrong?

alias 05-04-2011 04:02 AM

Enom reseller. I do have an account but nothing mission critical.

So if I buy like 20 more domains I can get a discount?! Sweet lol.

Shit, I am still getting the "expiring in 30 days" emails and logging in renewing some domains every once in a while. Sometimes I'm slacking and some junk parked domain will expire but you can easily renew it even afterward.

Can you elaborate on this? I have had numerous prescription/RX type domains with Namecheap for quite a while and never had a problem. What is legitscript?

cam_girls 05-04-2011 05:33 AM

it takes 3 minutes on Namecheap to do the same thing that would take 40 minutes on godaddy.

And they let me register this domain! :thumbsup

BFT3K 05-04-2011 07:40 AM

Wow, thanks for all of the feedback! Great stuff!

I've been using NameSecure.com for many years, but they've recently jumped their annual fee from $7.95 all the way up to $19.95 p/year! Stay away!

Wizzo 05-04-2011 07:53 AM

I've used Namecheap for a few years and had no issues at all with them. :pimp

19teenporn 05-05-2011 12:14 AM

I use namecheap and i am very happy with them..

papill0n 05-05-2011 12:30 AM

yep namecheap has been good to me over the years

Matyko 05-05-2011 02:40 AM

I have 250+ domains @ NC and I am very very happy. The new design is crap, I loved the classic old system, as it was faster and very easy to use, but the pure fact I left GD makes me happy happy happy. :) :pimp

DiF0r 05-05-2011 02:44 AM

They are cool, no problems

cam_girls 05-05-2011 02:46 AM

they changed very little just a new skin, members section still slick as before

Markul 05-05-2011 03:24 AM

Good for me, use em for both adult and mainstream, never any troubles.

HomerSimpson 05-05-2011 03:35 AM
