I hope the seal that shot her in the leg is working on improving his aim

the goal was to probably try and take him alive, if that failed the blow him away

Not at all. In a combat situation you don't pick and choose your targets. This is not your local police going in all tender and lady like. This is the most highly trained and most deadly team in the world. If they could have taken him live, I'm sure they would have, if not, too bad. And anything that gets in the way - kill it.

I'm absolutely certain they were told to kill him.

A live Osama Bin Laden would have been a disaster for a hundred reasons.

i think they would of preferred a live bin laden, but who rly knows. could be why his wife was shot in the leg, the seals where 1st shooting at him in the leg area. also, is it confirmed he was shot in the left eye? that's a sniper shot eh? or supremely lucky in a firefight.

Kill them all. Let God sort them out.

Most likely NOT a sniper shot as with all the action they would not normally have taken the risk of one of their own guys getting in the way..

Now he could have been at an escape point and about to bolt and a sniper took him in which case they claimed he was not and called it a day.

i hear ya. i know these guys have to be crazy good shots, and i'm sure can handle aiming a head shot with their weapon when they're supposed to, so it's not crazy for a eye shot.

Wasn't saying it wasn't understandable.. Just that many, many people will take it as a negative thing and that the US are all kill happy murders.

My confidence level is high that you are correct.

They are trained to make head shots. Basically they can hit whatever they choose to hit.

I just wonder if the guy that took the shot yelled out, "headshot motherfucker!" :winkwink:

I remember taking my concealed weapons course, they taught you to aim for the eyes, no bone to stop a bullet

I guess ops like these never go down quite as planned. Look at the mess that happened with the attempted rescue of the aid worker last year - the SEAL blew her up with a grenade.

I think I heard them say at the press conference that the wife was in a different room...and I do not think there has been any confirmation about where Osama was hit.

"Wanted DEAD or ALIVE" means dead or alive. {I've never seen it have an asterisk before}
