Don't worry, the petty squabble circus that is the "united" states america will be back in full force in no time at all.

Agent 488 05-02-2011 12:40 AM

usa usa usa ...

Seth Manson 05-02-2011 12:58 AM

Its nice to see citizens getting together and being patriotic and happy, instead of getting together and protesting or rioting.

It doesnt happen often enough.

It's pretty wild. Right now every one of the top 20 google trends topics is related in some way to Osama, Obama or 9/11

It's sweet. It's like they think all terrorism has been stopped and they won.

No kidding. Saw that earlier, it was about 120 and rising (in ones). Now 3000, and rising in 4 or 5s.

LOL And weird. Stopped on 3066. Reloaded and it's back down to 2200.

Probably something to do with Panda, somehow, no doubt.

Pakistan should be united too as it was a joint venture

The al Qaeda leader was killed in a targeted assault in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad, roughly 40 miles outside the capital city of Islamabad, a Pakistani official said. The raid was described by a Pakistani official as a joint and "highly sensitive intelligence operation" between Pakistani and U.S. forces.

BlackCrayon 05-02-2011 04:18 AM

good to see him gone but does it really change anything other than kill some conspiracy theories and create a few new ones?

And the clips of all those americans shouting "usa ... usa ..." makes you think their team has won a game or something.

But they did win the game, after all didn't america invade iraq because Saddam was a part of Al Qaeda :D Al Qaeda didnt exist anyway untill the americans invented it, its just an umbrella name for disparate groups of peoples who dislike america and the west.

GatorB 05-02-2011 05:49 AM

Yeah really united. That's why all over the internet Obama haters are saying Bin Laden is not dead and this is faked or refuse to give Obama any credit when it was he who made the call to go in. Bush never had the balls to cross the border into Pakistan.

LiveDose 05-02-2011 05:51 AM

They looked like a bunch of Palestinians chanting after a bomb goes off in Israel... All they were missing was the blue and white wraps.

I think the name "Al Qaeda" was actually invented or first used by the FBI during the trial of the Kenyan Embassy bombers. Not sure where I got that from but perhaps The Power Of Nightmares, a fantastic series which anyone who hasn't seen it should watch:

In any case, there is no mention of Al Qaeda before 1998 on internet forums or newsgroups, which is a good indicator that it is simply a moniker the FBI came up with for Bin Laden and his cronies, during the 1998 trial.

And bombed out and bulldozed rubble piles that used to be their homes.

spazlabz 05-02-2011 06:33 AM

nothing has changed for me. I am not celebrating the death of bin laden, I do not think Obama is some sort of great leader because of this. It has been so long that they have been hunting Osama my general reaction is "It's about time! Geeesh!"

alias 05-02-2011 06:55 AM

Hopefully the US dollar will go back up.

:(

Sometimes I fucking hate being American.

My favorite is the idiots that keep mispelling Obama/Osama. Especially because they are too excited over the rabble.

charlie g 05-02-2011 07:18 AM

United?!? Look at the threads giving credit to Obama. This will further polarize the US as the trenches have been dug. Too bad there is no "good guy" in the fight.
