So I own a webcam studio that mainly uses MyFreeCams.com and recently the site has been very unstable. I am trying to find out why, I can not get any answers from the sites tech support. The site keeps going down in the middle of peak times... Its really sad!

Anyone know WTF is going on?

I would most definatly like to know more about this, as we are in present motion of opening our live cam studio, also about to use the myfreecams.

Do you also have your own live cam website? Once we have maybe 20 or 30 girls on our books, I was going to set up our own live cam site, with many different scenarios in each room.

My own personal view is that this was always going to happen due to their business model.

Great though it undoubtedly is, it is set up to place an ever increasing burden on its servers as time goes by.

Not only do they have an enormous amount of traffic (a lot of whom are freeloaders) using their server resources, they also are set up that anybody who ever takes a performer private can watch the video of that private for free as often and as many times as they want.... which also uses resources.

Similarly to how facebook grew by adding additional servers virtually daily, I would imagine MFC are also regularly needing to add to keep things balanced.

I saw a girl on MFC today trying to do a g/g show in public chat and her video kept going down, she was pissed as were the guys who had tipped a lot of money for the show, she had almost 3,000 in her room.

My guess is that MFC has grown too big and can't handle the load.

Yes, it's been going down a lot, but usually for limited time. 10 mins here, 15 mins there.

It sounds like a top notch booming business.

Seems to me that they have to upgrade their flash media server version,most likely they use fms2.0 (assuming they dont use red5, or wowza) and maybe an edge server in every continent.And yes their support is below 0 , they are too busy with events just to show off....

MFC reminds me of myspace and I think a simplified solution could definitely be some serious competition for them. Too much glitz if you ask me, especially in the chat, it is just unbearable.

Our studio is opening shortly with 4 studios constantly running live cam. Wondering whether to charge the girls per hour and allow them to ear as much as they want or whether to pay them hourly reaping the profits.
Any studio want to hit me up or give ideas please.

I pay 70% to my girls of what they bring in, and we do very well.

I am actually moving away from MFC and I would not recommend any studio use them. There are several customers who have it out for studios and will try to talk your girls into going on there own which is easy, unlike Stream or Cams MFC does not protect studios from girls just making a new profile and ditching the studio. Streamate and Cams make girls wait 6 months before they can make a new site so they lose all there regulars if they leave the studio. We just transferred to Streamate and are bring in about the same as MFC without the glitches, downtime, freeloaders, and bullshit. MFC can make a lot of money but it is not built for studios, there Customer Service for studios is 100% bullshit, they are of no help, and they will in fact tell you lies just to get you to stop sending them emails.

there is really no need for a girl to be with a studio working for mfc. she can do it right from home and keep the money instead of giving up a cut to mfc AND the studio.
